“Hi! I review 4K, Blu-ray, boutique, and theaterical releases. Collector/Curator-first, no fluff. 📀 🎞️ 🎥📽️

POSTS STORIES REELS

I couldn’t wait for the next Barnes & Noble Criterion sale. I needed Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein in my collection just in time for Halloween! The Reborn cut! Some things are worth paying semi-full price for.

Project Hail Mary lands on 4K UHD in this gorgeous limited-edition SteelBook! The artwork is fantastic, but the real treat is the inclusion of the expanded 1.43:1 aspect ratio version, bringing even more of the film’s IMAX-scale visuals home. A very welcome addition to the 4K collection!

Those outrageous colors were made for 4K. I’ve put the I Love Boosters review copy through its paces, and Boots Riley’s wild satire looks fantastic, with reference-quality 5.1 sound to match. My full 4K UHD Blu-ray review is now up at Why So Blu? (Link in the bio) — picture, audio, and extras covered.

A little bit of everything in the latest 4K UHD haul! From the gloriously ridiculous Masters of the Universe and Mars Attacks! to the provocative I Want Your Sex and Universal’s classic Dracula films. Four very different releases, spanning cult favorites, outrageous satire, contemporary cinema, and gothic horror. Variety is the spice of life, especially when it comes to physical media!

One, two, Freddy’s coming for you… 🔪

Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) gets the 4K Ultra HD treatment, and what better way to revisit one of horror’s all-time classics? Freddy Krueger, Nancy Thompson, and the film that made going to sleep a terrifying proposition. Still an imaginative nightmare over 40 years later. Sweet dreams! 💤

New addition to the 4K collection: Blades of the Guardians: Wind Rises in the Desert on 4K Ultra HD. Yuen Woo-ping behind the camera with Wu Jing, Nicholas Tse, and Jet Li? That combination alone was enough to get my attention. Looking forward to seeing how all that wuxia action and desert imagery translates to 4K disc.

A little Saturday night physical media pickup. Masters of the Universe (1987) on 4K UHD from Toy Robot — because sometimes you just need Dolph Lundgren as He-Man, Frank Langella chewing scenery as Skeletor, and peak ’80s Cannon Films insanity in glorious 4K. ⚔️💀

By the power of Grayskull!

Well, this was a nice surprise. I Love Boosters showed up on 4K UHD for review, and this one is definitely staying in the collection.

Looking forward to revisiting Boots Riley’s latest and seeing what the 4K presentation has to offer. 📀

It’s still one of my favorite films of the year!

A little Weekday-afternoon nostalgia on Blu-ray! He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Complete Original Series — all the power of Grayskull in one collection. Childhood memories unlocked. 🗡️💀

Two very different classics joining the 4K collection. Innerspace from Arrow Video and All the President’s Men — sci-fi comedy on one side, investigative journalism on the other. Looking forward to revisiting both in 4K!

A little horror, a little hell, and one hell of a lawyer. 😈 Three more 4K upgrades for the collection: The Devil’s Advocate, George A. Romero’s Land of the Dead, and David Cronenberg’s Rabid. Physical media keeps winning.

Arrow Video definitely came through during the Barnes & Noble 50% off sale! Added six absolute bangers to the 4K shelf: Mortal Kombat Kollection, Excalibur, Falling Down, The Andromeda Strain, Soylent Green, and Red Sun. A great mix of fantasy, sci-fi, action, western, and cult classics. The only problem is deciding what gets the first spin.
