Wrapping up NYABF 2026! This is my first ever book fair, a busy, soggy but absolute sweet one. It’s also has been a dream come true. I visited NYABF in 2018 for the first time when I moved to NYC. I would never believe if anyone told me that one day, I’d be behind the table and sharing my works with the community too. The love for art, story, print, and crickets brought @ricericebug and me together via the incredible internet. We gave each other feedbacks on our zines, cheer each other up when things are a bit overwhelming. In the end, our hard work and love for crickets are rewarded. There have been so many praises about the table presentation, folks stopped by and asked if this is the cricket table their friends told them to visit. I ran into friends, professors back in schools, and so many many people who are also amazed and intrigued by the world of cricket fighting. Big shout out to my friends who sacrificed their cozy weekend at home and stood in the zine tent with me amidst the chilling storm. Huge thank you to @bobug292 with their stunning works from Korea. Lastly, thank you @printedmatter_artbookfairs @sun__pix @maia_and_books @_craigmathis for having why why press at the fair this year and making everything happen. RiceRiceBugPress is coming to the New York Art Book Fair 2026 🦗🗽 My books, including The Art of Enjoying Crickets 蟋蟀赏玩, will be available at Why Why Press @whywhy.press booth, an artist-run press based in New York. We’ll be at A20 in the Zine Tent! The cricket project will be presented in New York for the first time. Come by and say hi🙋‍♂️ Why why press is an independent publishing practice by artist and designer Yunjia Yuan, currently base in Brooklyn, New York. Treating research as a form of inquiry, the press follows overlooked objects, images, and stories as cultural specimens, developing its nuanced and subjective readings. Through books, zines, working images, and exhibitions, why why press uses publishing as a way to look closer, ask why, and bring vernacular cultures into view. RiceRiceBugPress is an indie publishing project by artist Vyn Lee, based between Shanghai and Seoul. Drawing from a TCK background and grounded in cultural research and field observation, the press explores local subcultures and overlooked forms of urban culture. Through publications, photography, illustration, and other visual practices, RiceRiceBugPress documents and reinterprets these subjects from a personal perspective.
