It’s been a long while since my last post!

My health, unfortunately, didn’t allow me to keep up with this account for a while. I truly wish I could’ve continued, but I had to stepping back.

That time away also changed me, and my Craft. I felt the need to live more intentionally and in sync with the cycles of Nature.

From now on, I’ll be sharing not only spells and rituals, but also the simple, sustainable ways I try to live in tune with the Earth. Magick, Nature, and self-sufficiency, all parts of the same path.

Would you have loved a book like this as a kid? Because I definitely would!

@quartokids kindly sent me a copy of Chasing the Moon by Susan Hayes to read, and I had such a nice time going through it.

It’s a children’s book all about the Moon, mixing science and nature with stories, traditions and beliefs from different cultures. There are also little mentions of witchcraft, astrology lunar gardening and other magical practices, which obviously caught my attention!

The illustrations by Anna Stead (@thistlemoon) are probably my favourite part. They’re absolutely beautiful and make the whole book feel really magical. The language is also simple and easy to understand, while still including lots of genuinely interesting facts.

My only criticism is that the book covers a lot of different subjects, so some of them are only explored quite briefly. I found myself wishing a few sections went a little deeper! And if you’re here for the witchy side, keep in mind that it’s only a small part of the book rather than its main focus.

Do you use plants for your Craft? If so, how do you acquire them?

I'm working on a new book, and I would love to know if you woulf find interesting concepts like a "local apothecary"!

Are you already decorating for Mabon? 🍎🍂

Small seasonal altars are a beautiful way to connect with the Wheel of the Year without needing a large space or an elaborate setup. For this one, I used an apple as the base and filled it with a few simple Mabon correspondences:

🍎 Apple: harvest, abundance, gratitude...
🌱 Earth: grounding, stability, and connection to the land.
🤎 Cinnamon: warmth, abundance, prosperity, and the energy of the autumn season.
🌿 Sage: cleansing, wisdom, and protection.
✨ Myrrh: protection, spirituality, and honoring cycles of death, transformation, and renewal.
🕯️ Candle: light, balance, and the transition toward the darker months.

A practical tip: don’t hollow out the apple too much! Leaving plenty of flesh at the bottom will help it stay stable and hold the candle safely.

And remember, this is a temporary altar. The apple will naturally begin to decay, which feels especially fitting for a celebration centered around harvest, cycles, and change. Once Mabon is over, remove anything that isn’t biodegradable and compost the apple, returning it to the earth.

Can you believe the equinox is almost here? It's still pretty hot where I live, but I can definitely notice daylight getting shorter.

The book in the photo is my first book, The Complete Grimoire! The wonderful illustration is by @natavedana

Have you ever seen mullein growing near you?

Mullein (Verbascum thapsus) is one of those plants that’s hard to miss, with its soft leaves and tall spikes of yellow flowers. It also has a long history of traditional and magickal uses!

Do you use mullein in your practice?

Are any of these activities in your plans for Lughnasadh? The heatwaves have me at home almost all day, except early in the morning or late in the evening! But I'll try to watch the sunrise/sunset, for sure.

One of the things that helps me connect most deeply with each Sabbat is scent. For Lughnasadh, I love warm, sunny, harvest-inspired fragrances.

Place the diffuser on your altar, a shelf, or your desk, and refresh it with a few more drops of essential oil whenever the fragrance begins to fade. It's a small but meaningful way to keep the spirit of Lughnasadh close throughout the season.

Do certain scents help you connect with the changing seasons too? If so, which ones remind you of Lughnasadh? 🌻

Have you started decorating for Lughnasadh yet? 🌾

This little Lughnasadh altar in a jar is a lovely way to bring the spirit of the first harvest into your home.

Place it on your altar, a windowsill, or your dining table throughout the season. You can also light the candle during meditation, journaling, gratitude practices, or seasonal rituals as a gentle way to reconnect with the energy of Lughnasadh.

Lughnasadh is approaching so quickly (Imbolc in the Southern Hemisphere!). 🌾

The first harvest festival of the Wheel of the Year, Lughnasadh, marks the beginning of the harvest season and invites us to pause, give thanks, and recognize the fruits of our efforts.

It's a time to celebrate abundance, honor the land that sustains us, bake with the first grains, share food with loved ones, and reflect on what this season has taught us.

Are you planning to celebrate Lughnasadh this year?🌻
