Today we have a DUAL takeover — meet Amy and Jenna, two of our Blue Key student workers. Amy is a junior Anthropology major with a minor in Forensic Science. She chose Hartwick for its small community and one-on-one student/professor relationships. In addition to being a Blue Key, Amy works for the Success Coaches as a Peer Pilot. Her favorite artist is Taylor Swift, her favorite movie is The Princess Diaries, and her favorite TV show is Bones. Jenna is a junior English major with a minor in Economics. She is a transfer student, and she chose Hartwick because of how welcoming and helpful the staff and faculty were during her transfer process. Her favorite band is Greta Van Fleet, her favorite show is Arrested Development, and her favorite author is Fredrik Backman. (She took this picture in Iceland! Thanks J-term 😉) Who do you have more in common with? taken in Hartwick College by @wickadmissions

It’s National Decision Day! Huge congratulations to everyone who made the (wonderful) decision to become a Hawk, and to all who are deciding today! We can’t wait to welcome you to campus in a few months. We know that it’s been a tough year with FAFSA delays, so don’t stress if you haven’t made a decision yet. We’re more than willing to give you extra time so that you can feel completely confident in your choice. Reach out to your counselor or admissions@hartwick.edu and we will help you from there! taken in Hartwick College by @wickadmissions

To our accepted students, thank you SO much for showing up on Sunday! We hope that we were able to show even a fraction of how proud we are of all of you. Congrats to all of you on your acceptance to Hartwick and we look forward to seeing you this fall during Wick Week. P.S. If there are any accepted students who were unable to make it to ASD, this is a reminder that our last Hawk for a Day event is next Tuesday (4/23) to Wednesday (4/24). taken in Hartwick College by @wickadmissions

Say hi to Mallory! Mallory is doing today’s IG story takeover, so stay posted to see what her typical day on the road looks like (she’s in the Hudson Valley today). Here are some fun facts about Mallory: Mallory graduated from Hartwick in 2022 with a major in Poli Sci and a minor in Legal Studies. She also did the three year degree program because she’s a rockstar. She’s one of our admissions counselors, but she is also the Coordinator for our Blue Key Ambassadors, the student workers here in admissions. She just finished watching Gilmore Girls, she plays the clarinet in THREE community bands, and it’s her birthday tradition to eat spaghetti for dinner. Do you and Mallory have anything in common? taken in Hartwick College by @wickadmissions

Meet Blue, our Director of Admissions. Despite her age, she’s a very professional young lady and a really wonderful boss. We’re so grateful to have her… even if sometimes she falls asleep on the job. She’s enacting an exciting new policy: all Hartwick students get a puppy! I’m not sure how she’s going to find that many puppies to give away, but I trust her. … Happy April Fools’ Day! taken in Hartwick College by @wickadmissions

The first Hawk for a Day session was a huge success!! Thanks so much to everyone who came and our current Hawks who hosted and showed accepted students what it’s like to go to Hartwick. Missed it? No problem! We have THREE more sessions coming up. Accepted students can stay overnight or come for just the day. You’ll eat at the Commons, go to classes, and do fun activities (for this one we did tie-dye). Session 2: April 2-3 Session 3: April 9-10 Session 4: April 23-24 You’re also invited to Accepted Student Day on April 14! Register for either (or both) of these events here https://www.hartwick.edu/admissions/ways-to-visit/ taken in Hartwick College by @wickadmissions

Meet Stephanie! Steph is one of our Assistant Directors of Admissions and she works with all incoming nursing students. Steph will be taking over the story today to show you what a day-in-the-life of an admissions counselor on the road is like (hint: she’s on Long Island, so lots of traffic), so keep an eye out! Here are some fun facts about Steph: Fredrik Backman is her favorite author, the last show she saw on Broadway was Hadestown (and she really liked it), she thinks Shrek is a “flawless movie,” she could eat tacos for every meal, and she REALLY wants South Carolina and Dawn Staley to win the women’s March Madness NCAA tournament. Meet Sam! Sam is one of our Blue Key leaders at Hartwick. Keep an eye out for her on our story today, she will be taking over to show you what it’s like to be a Hawk. Here are some facts about Sam: Sam is a senior nursing major from Lynbrook, Long Island. She chose Hartwick because it offered the best support for students during their four years here, both in and out of the classroom. Her favorite artist is Noah Kahan, her favorite movie is The Hunger Games, and her favorite TV show is Law & Order: SVU. She’s also just super cool.
