My take on the pool and self analysis:
POOL: 10/10 wave surfed (expert turns setting)
BOARD:3/10 5’10” Pyzel Ghost
PERFORMANCE: 2/10…
In my opinion the pool and waves are perfect, specially to practice over the same wave and fix things you feel you can improve. On my self; I can see my front arm staying straight down, which doesn’t look stylish and feels like it slows me down instead of using it for momentum through the transitions. Both hands up always in a square alignment will help keep speed and control. The board choice was not ideal, it was the only board i have in NY so I took it since I know it well, however a step up (barrel board) is not for this wave setting. It is shaped for heavy waves so it has a lot of extra glass and a little more weight than an average short board and also a few extra inches you don’t need for the setting we surfed. I had it as 2+1 (twin fin + small trailer) fin setup which makes it a little looser and that helped with turns.

Los videos dicen más que las palabras.
Poder enseñar a niños a surfear en el mismo lugar donde yo aprendí, donde crecí y donde se han creado tantos recuerdos es profundamente emotivo. Esta playa ha sido parte de todos nosotros. Hemos visto sus caras, sus familias, sus olas y sus historias. 💙
Hoy compartimos una hermosa clase de surf en Little Malibu con una familia increíble — Annabelle, Maribelle y Celesta — con Cookie y Roxy surfeando junto a ellos. Nos acompañaron Wiko y Alberto Pietri, ayudando a que todo fluyera de forma segura en el agua. Todos los instructores presentes son salvavidas certificados, y la seguridad siempre es nuestra prioridad.
Se avecinan cambios en la marina. Pronto habrá una nueva rampa para botes que permitirá la entrada y salida de hasta tres embarcaciones al mismo tiempo. Se colocarán boyas en el agua y ya no se permitirá nadar en esa zona. Es un cambio difícil y una pérdida que muchos sentiremos, pero también es importante reconocer que los pescadores merecen un acceso seguro y confiable al océano. Ellos trabajan duro y este es su sustento.
Este será uno de los cambios más grandes que haya vivido el Puerto de Rincón. No es fácil, pero es por el bienestar del pueblo en su conjunto.
Todavía contamos con otros hermosos puntos para surfear, y seguiremos enseñando, compartiendo olas y creando recuerdos — simplemente en nuevos lugares.
Pedimos a todos que avancemos con respeto. No hay necesidad de conflicto. Apreciemos lo que este lugar ha sido, disfrutémoslo mientras podamos y apoyémonos mutuamente durante esta transición.

Getting to teach kids how to surf at the same place where I learned, where I grew up, and where so many memories were made is deeply emotional. This beach has been part of all of us. We’ve seen its faces, its families, its waves, and its stories. 💙
Today, we shared a beautiful surf lesson at Little Malibu with an amazing family — Annabelle, Maribelle, and Celesta — with Cookie and Roxy surfing right alongside them.
