Dear Fans,

I want to thank each and every one of you for your contributions and love since the inception of @widespreadpanicfans. The content and website have been loving, curated, archived, and managed by me for over a decade. A fan since 1996, I started collecting artwork and stories from fans shortly after Mikey died as a way to connect and inspire the community positively through our mutual love of the music. My simple idea, which started out on paper, grew into something much more significant with the power of the internet, and for that, I'm forever grateful.

As time has gone on, I've had to make the difficult decision to resign from that which I have created. The countless hours, love, and finances I've put into #widespreadpanicfans are beyond measure, and with an empty cup, I can no longer pour from.

I would like the page and website to carry on in my absence, and I hope you do, too. I have sourced a new archivist who exceeds my standards of content curation, and while I've never taken a dime from my efforts, I morally cannot ask someone else to do the same.

That said, I turn to you, the fans, to help fill our empty cup by subscribing to our page so I can retain and pay fairly, the new archivist. We need 250 fans to subscribe for $5 a month to continue to share with you all the great content from the early years to present that I have stashed away and collected for decades. If we don't manage to obtain enough subscribers, the page will still remain an archive of content but no longer managed or updated. It pains me even to ask for help, but it's the only way forward. You can subscribe by clicking on the "subscribe" button on our IG page.

For those of you whom I've had the opportunity to meet in person or virtually, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's been an amazing journey, and I look forward to the road ahead.

Everybody's Daddy. The love-light that never goes out. If Col. Bruce Hampton didn’t invent Atlanta's rock scene, he certainly helped create it with the seminal Hampton Grease Band that played for free on Sunday afternoons at Piedmont Park along with a new and upcoming band from Macon, @officialallmanbrothers.

Twenty years later, Hampton helped spark the “jam band” phenomena when he formed his most famous group: Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit. Although you’d never hear him take any credit, Hampton served as the inspiration and mentor for several of the most recognizable faces in the genre including our boys in @widespreadpanichq .

His often zany and unorthodox style thumbs its nose at convention. Styles change, tastes change, but Hampton stayed true to himself. He was Atlanta’s most eclectic character in an era where characters are no longer allowed. The Fox Theatre. Atlanta, GA. May 1, 2017. 📷: Paul R. Guinta.

The sixes. 🔥 Step into our time machine after Widespread Panic played two sold-out shows at the Vic Theatre in the Windy City during the '95 summer tour. The band stopped for this great photo downtown under the elevated train tracks before heading to Ohio for another show at the Centennial Quarry in Toledo. Closing our eyes remember the places
Oh, the places we've been
Like old-timey memories
We can watch over and over again
That's where we can go to see each other again
I'll meet you there you can find me my friend
See you there find me find me
I'll meet you there my old friend

(Find me... old friend)

Today we honor the memory of crew member Garrie Vereen who passed away in 2011 on this day.

Garrie was the glue that connected the band and the fans. A little known fact is the song "Jamais Vu" pays tribute to him. For those of you who attended the Savannah 2022 Halloween shows, you may have noticed a rainbow displayed during this song. It was placed exactly in the spot where Garrie sat behind Sunny's kit for many years. @preston_hoffman of @pulse_lighting added this thoughtful touch. Gone but never forgotten, we ❤️ you Garro.
