Grateful to see my family and this place after 7 years away. So much has changed, some has stayed the same, and I’m happy for both. taken in 佐原 by @widr.x

We're celebrating Pride Month with Ballet Tucson dancers! 🌈 ❤️ ⁣
⁣
We asked Aki Widerquist "what does Pride mean to you?” ⁣
⁣
"To me, pride is more than a celebration of love. Queerness starts with questioning the rules about who we are allowed to be and what we are allowed to want. It is the ongoing experience of seeking authenticity and acknowledging the ever shifting world around us. Pride is a celebration of that journey. It is a time to collectively look back on how far we’ve come and continue dreaming of a vibrant, authentic future." - @widr.x

I have been making a dance that is very special to me here at the NYC Emerging Artists Project. It’s premiering this Saturday June 27th at 7pm EST alongside pieces by @ardesiderio, @erin.arndorfer, and @ugocirri. The performance will be streamed for free @nycemergingartistsproject !!!

Not pictured are four beautiful costumes by @hiromitutu 🖤

I am so proud of these dancers for their beautiful work, and so grateful to have this time with them.
