This was from 9/5/2026 from The Green Room 42 cabaret. I watched livestream of the mega talented Kathryn Lynn-Rose and cast. This song is “Prove it” by 2 stars: Nova Gomez @novanishing and #clarkonstage @clarkonstage . I wish I was there in person to watch it. I enjoyed the entire cast, entire show so much! Let me tell you about this unique show NeZha! This folk mythology my family and I had known (various versions) forever. This was an all Asian cast on NYC at Sheen theater. The opening scene with strong vocals, dances and lighting drew me in, but the all Asian cast, I was not prepared how I reacted. A sense of being seen! And celebrated!! Ok! As story unfold, not one dull moment! Blown away by the talents of each actor! Incredible singing and dancing. Ne Zha was precious and won our hearts. The dark moments (my parents knew this part of story and wondered how they would act it out), were gently done, though shocking to people who didn’t know the story. For this mother it brought tears, especially with the emotional singing of @jayna.wescoatt . My favorite scene is the heaven scene where the spirits grooved and popped and locked 🕺then the wiseman song was soooooo funny. Thank goodness for the happy ending 🐲🥰. Bravo to all involved in the production of this amazing show 👏👏👏credits to #emmawong #sakikawamura #ewculturalfoundation ##nezhamusical sheencenter Thank you @novanishing for inviting us. I gifted a bag of frozen dumplings to my retired teacher, who is independent and always tries to make some new meals for herself. She sent me pictures how she made xiao Lon bao in one pan. From @eat.mila . Wow!!! What a great way to simplify her meal prep and looks pretty too. She said she loves it so much, she’s made it 3 times now. 🥰🥰🥰 thank you @eat.mila by @wigo_artwork

The Heart Sellers will be at Dobama Theater for 2/19, 2/20, 2/21, 2/22.
I just saw it this past weekend. Let me try to process this and tell you about my experience.
First, I loved it. I laughed so much, I cried, and was impressed with the production setting, atmosphere, and 2 incredible actors: Kat Shy (as Jane) and Nova Gomez (as Luna). But, I was thinking a lot about the story, the 2 Asian immigrant women in 1970’s. I related because I saw another Asian family in Kmart when I first came to America in 1983, and ran to them to try to befriend them, because it was so rare to see another Asian face at that time. I also felt isolated, and was self conscious about being different, getting looks, finger pointing, just because of being a minority. It’s obvious that there was so much resonance with stories of sadness, fear of change, home sickness etc. But I’m glad this play was not about that. It is actually a glimpse of these 2 immigrant women from 2 different Asian countries trying to make new friends. Their conversation was simple, honest and just joyful. Through their monologue, one can sense their personality, passion, and what they had given up coming to this country. I think most people can relate to this feeling of being alone and needing support, whether it’s a new school, job, new home. But the story closed being so hopeful, making connections and a simple child-like affirmation. This affirmation of social belonging that we need to survive in our community. It was up-lifting for me.
Anyhow, just go see it, as there is only one week left in the run at Dobama theater.
Now, I’m going to ponder what song was Luna singing or humming in Tagalog. by @wigo_artwork
