RIP Ozzy Osborne. Photo is from when he was filming Ozzy&Jacks World Detour at the Presidental Palace/Museum of the Revolution in Cuba. S1E9 btw. Ozzy and Jack just walked out with a large camera crew and I was shocked to see him. I had bite marks on my finger afterwards from trying so hard not to fan girl out. When you were a young boy, did your father take you into the city to see a marching band? If your's did, then you'll know what this is! This is Bob Bryar's used Black Parade Outfit! Bob wore this for Music Videos, concerts, promotional shoots and other things. Yes, this is THAT one. This is a 1/1 item, that was hand made by 4 time Oscar winner for costume design, Colleen Atwood and is 100% wool. This is supposed to look like a Marching Band outfit and it 100% does! Here are the measurements Pit to pit: 21 inches, Top to bottom: 33.5 inches Pants: Across: 17 inches Inseam: 27 inches, Top of leg to bottom: 38.5 inches. The zipper is small for some reason. All the buttons have R on them, even the pants which have a side zip. It's Refine 100% wool Gabardine fabric. For anyone wondering, I was at the 2022 NWSL Championship when I won this. I'll probably loan this to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when #MCR gets inducted to the HOF, but until then, it sits in a hanging bag in a safe. And yes, there are still hairs of Bob's dog on it. Happy #jerseythursday! Today I am showing off my Elvis Merzļikins Columbus Blue Jackets Reverse Retro jersey! Elvis started with HC Lugano in Switzerland making his NLA Debut in 2013-14, before he even turned 20! Dispite being drafted by the Blue Jackets in 2016, he stayed with Lugano through 2019, including an NLA Championship run in 2018, which was a game 7 heartbreaker. Sigh. He would come over to Columbus for the rest of the 2019 season and he has since struggled in the NHL mostly as a backup. His only winning season as a starter came in 24-25. He was traded before the season began in a shock trade with Krill and Miles Wood. Elvis is a goalie that I like, dispite what he did to Tom Wilson, but I kind of feel sorry for as well. Hes had 2 teammates die on him in Columbus, Matiss Kivlenieks and Johnny Hockey and it certainly has affected his mental health. Also being Latvian means you have a ton of goals scored on you. In the things I never thought Id be at, I was at the DC Public Library Gala! My Xbox controller died as I had 2 goals past MAF on the Coyotes! So I got the invite to this on Monday and said fuck it and went. Have you ever had a beer in a Library? Now I have. I had such a fun time meeting people and talking to them about #hailtothefans and #rfkstadium to the point that many people thought I was over doing it. (Sounds familiar? What the fuck else do I do here? Give you cannon fodder for the distruction of the Kennedy Center and what else was there? Drink senate beer.) Did you know there was a slide in the MLK Library? Librarians arent scary. They are hear to help you and need to be a hell of a lot more friendly. Instead of doing what I normally would do on a Thursday, I am celebrating what should have been the 65th birthday of RFK Stadium! On this day in 1961, the Washington Redskins opened up the stadium with a 24 to 21 lost to the New York Football Giants. A game that was met by protest by both the NAACP and the American dumb ass party, over the lack of integration on the Redskins. While the stadium might have started out tumultuously (seats not bolted down, lack of water pressure, no power to food stalls, no doors in the womens restrooms) certainly has a very unique past (even the planing process was crazy!) that deserves to be celebrated and remembered. Even though it started out as a mixed use football and baseball stadium, it eventually became a mix use football and soccer stadium with seven and a half soccer tenants in it's lifespan. It is one of the very few venues in the world (I believe 1 of 5) that has hosted at least two World Cups and an Olympics. Going to RFK was always something to look forward to. The Sunday afternoon Nats games hit different, especially when you were hot and needed to get up and go to the ramps on the south side to get a breeze that was provided by the divider that were ment for shade. It had somewhat of a home sort of vibe to it that always made me feel welcome and ready to have fun no matter the event! Here are some of my favorite pics of RFK that I can find, as well as a collection of items from almost all of the teams that called RFK stadium home (the exception being Team America as the guy hasn't shipped the shirt yet for some reason). I am also working on a podcast about the soccer history of RFK Stadium and its incredibly deep. I am not even into 1976 and I am already over 100 slides! It will probably be optioned into a book it is so in depth! I have learned so many fun and interesting facts that it would make your head spin! Happy #JerseyThursday everybody! Today I am showing off something that I've had for a hot minute and I finally figured it out much more of the story behind it. It's my Stuart Primus Washington Bullets preseason Jersey from the 84-85 season! Stuart was a 6th round pick by the Pacers in the 84 draft, only to have his rights forfeited a week later. Stu would go on to play the 1985 season for the Rhode Island Gulls of the USBL, where Manute Bol, Spud Webb and John "Hot Rod" Williams (as he awaited trial for point shaving, he was found not guilty in his second trail after a mistrail in the first) were teammates! The Gulls were a box office smash in Newport, averaging 1208 in a small high school gym. Stu then would be signed by the Bullets on Sept 1, lasting until the 2nd of October. Before the preseason began. The jersey made by Wilson is the starchiest thing I have ever felt in my life! But its so damn springy! The pressed on name plate, which was the style at the time to save on cost and can be removed if need be. Believe it or not, this was purchased at the O street mansion in DC. It was hanging up in a shower and I back tracked and was like is that what I think it is? I had to buy it as team issued Bullets jerseys from the 80s every day!
