I think it's safe to say that Ghana is truly my happy place.

A country that was once completely foreign to me has become so much more. I've built a community there, celebrated my birthday on multiple occasions, and it has become a place I can truly call home. šŸ‡¬šŸ‡ šŸ«¶šŸ¾

This was my first solo trip to Ghana šŸ™ŒšŸ¾. Sometimes the best things in life are waiting on the other side of a solo flight...and the courage to book it. Let this be your sign to book the flight!

SN: I'll have my Ghana Card by my next visit. 🤣

Thank you to everyone who took the time to send birthday wishes. As I step into this new season of life, my prayer is simple: that God continues to show me just how beautiful, abundant, and fulfilling life can be.

Auka 🌹

Celebrating 159 years of Truth and Service.
Celebrating Black excellence in every form.
Honoring living legends.
And raising over $1.2M for student scholarships.

Howard University’s Charter Day felt like homecoming dressed in black tie — reconnecting, celebrating all the brilliance in the room, and being reminded of the power of the HU community.

The love in a room full of Bison is like no other.

My heart is full.

The legacy. The brilliance. The joy.

I'm so glad...šŸ’™ā¤ļøšŸ¦¬

My final week in Bangalore has been bittersweet. A country I never once wanted to visit has now become a second home. And now I walk away with friends from around the world I call family. I arrived with so many unknowns—uncertainty around the purpose of my assignment and moments of questioning, why am I really here? But through it all, I stayed open. I started connecting my own dots while remaining my authentic self. I leaned into courage, faith, and curiosity, allowing this experience to truly become my own.

I leave India deeply grateful for the opportunity to live and work in a place that—let’s be real—9 out of 10 people refuse to visit, especially MY peopleāœŠšŸ¾- WE are NOT going to India. Yet I return to America with a renewed perspective on life. Being in India positioned me to experience a different side of living—one rooted in care, support, and deeply held values, where culture and humanity are not separate from work, but foundational to how people show up for one another, in life and in business. In many ways, I was pushed far outside of my comfort zone and had to grow in ways I didn’t expect—but clearly needed.

My apartment, 2252—aka The ChaĢ‚teau in the Sky—will forever hold a special place in my heart. I was often asked, why do you need all that space if it’s just you? Very simple, because I can’t be what I don’t see. Beyond those double doors was a life I never thought I could experience, and it confirmed for me that nothing is impossible—just keep believing-and pushing for what you desire & deserve. šŸ§ššŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø

I’m looking forward to settling back into NYC. Be easy on me—I had to leave Mr. Singh and Ms. Sheela behind and now need to relearn how working professionals "adult" in America.

I may not have turned every stone, but the ones I did turn—I turned them all the way out!

If you made it this far, thank you for coming on this journey with me. Thank you for praying for me, checking on me, asking questions, commentary, encouraging me, or even offering a silent nod of admiration—and I’m sure confusion 🤣
I hope I inspired at least one person to say why not when opportunity knocks at your door šŸ«¶šŸ¾

We’ve officially made it to the last month of 2025—which can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. But for me, it marks one pivotal moment: I’ve reached the point where my temporary assignment in India has officially started speed-walking to the finish line.

Yes, six months goes by faster than you think. And before some of you flood my DMs telling me to stay put because ā€œAmerica is trash,ā€ or ask why the ā€œhead enchiladasā€ won’t let me extend—trust me, I’ve tried every angle. Because let’s be honest: I have unlocked a new standard of living, personally and professionally. The kind I always admired in others and aspired to have as my own yet never fully believed was attainable for many reasons.Ā  SN: I have to constantly remind myself you are Big V, not the little one...act like it.

But here’s the real tea: ya girl bossed up a little too hard (again), landed a new role (same company)… hello Vice President, and now everyone is anxiously awaiting my return back to the NYC office. I knew this day would eventually come, but I was still holding out hope for at least three more months.

After I finished being dramatic about my time drawing near, I have started to sit with what this journey has meant:Ā  My time here has been a reflection of decades of answered prayers—seeds planted, watered, and finally blooming.

My prayer for the rest of my time here in India is simple: to savor every moment and continue building a life in which I flourish, no matter where I am in the world.

If you’ve made it this far—thank you for staying on this journey with me. Thank you for the encouragement, the prayers, the jokes, the check-ins, and of course… the threats to drag me back to the Western world---it worked 🄓

Here’s to the final stretch. In the meantime get into a few pics from my latest adventure with a few special guests that came to visit me in Bang for the Thanksgiving holiday. šŸ¤

Cheers to More Good Times

I'm not loud about it, but I've never felt more beautiful, more grounded, and more sure of myself. šŸ¤

I am truly in awe of how much I've been smiling these days. Maybe I've just never paid enough attention to me like I thought I was. Well, I'm in my romanticizing season until further notice. 🌹

When was the last time you said you were proud of you?
I AM Proud of Me!

Check out a few pics from my city tour in Abu Dhabi. Before y'all start tussling with me in my inbox...the office is closed for a few days in observance of Diwali. So, I hopped on a flight to enjoy the holiday UAE style 🤣.

And this my friends is what happens after being in India for 3 months. Celebrating Diwali at work and the prep process to ensure I nailed traditional day --These ladies argued down for the right price, color, and fit to make sure I was set for Diwali. Today officially makes 3 months of living and working in Bangalore, India. I still have to pinch myself that I actually have an address and a bank account in India.

When people ask why I chose India, my answer’s still the same: India chose me. I thought my next chapter would be London—but God had other plans. A plan that would stretch me in ways London never could. A plan that required me to surrender, accept, and grow into a new version of me. I needed this...🄹

India will definitely test your patience, so no, I’m not out here levitating at yoga retreats. I’m in the thick of it—navigating traffic, culture, and work—head on. Life here is equal parts chaos and clarity.

I know I tend to make things look easy - it's not easy, but it is simple - and it's beautiful. I’m eating cleaner, resting more, working hard, traveling more, and figuring everything else out as I go.

If you made it this far, thank you for your continued prayers, check-ins, words of encouragement, threats to return to NYC and to my group chats that help me maintain a sense of normalcy and connection, thank you.

From Bang with Love - V, your newly crowned honorary Indian 🌹

✨ If you knew your time was limited, how would you spend it? Would you wait for the ā€œright moment,ā€ or start putting things in motion to start working through your bucket list items?

Our time here isn’t limitless. I know my time in India is for a good time, not a long time—so I keep reminding myself: this moment won’t happen again.

Get up. Book the trip. Visit the temple. Go to the restaurant. Book the class. Just go try some new sh*t!

This week, the office was closed for 2.5 days for a public holiday. So, instead of bed rotting the days away, I decided to check another place off my list—Coorg, aka the ā€œScotland of India."

Now, I’ve never been to Scotland, so I can’t confirm the comparison šŸ˜…, but I can say Coorg was lush, peaceful, and green—a nature lover’s dream if that’s your thing.

I told everyone I was ā€œgoing camping.ā€ My version of camping, that is. Turns out, I’m not an outdoorsy kinda girl as much as I want to be.

I survived a late nite rat sighting while walking back to my room, nightly mosquito concerts in my ear, and what I’m convinced was a tarantula in my shower. I made it through—just barely, and I still had a wonderful time.

But next trip… we’re not staying in the forest. šŸ˜‚

Anyway, check out a few flicks from Coorg—temples, prayers (not pictured), wading in the sacred waters, coffee and spice plantations, and a few new friends along the way.

If you knew you only had a short time to live out some of your wildest dreams- what would that be, and what’s stopping you from doing it now?

Note: About the new friends—- the further out of Bangalore I go, the more people are not shy to ask for a picture with me. Their requests are draped in curiosity. For most , it is their first time seeing a Black American— men, women, and kids. They take joy in guessing where I’m from and express gratitude for the exchange. If I am their first, my goal is to make sure they are left with sweet memories of this Black American girl. Now, there are some that are nosey - you can tell based on their line of questions, and my exchange is a bit different(they are not pictured šŸ˜‚).

Drop me a note when you make it to pic 16! by @wild_ginger5.0

God said bigger & better, so that's what I'm on until further notice. šŸ§ššŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø

Muscat Oman Recap: My first trip to the Middle East—Muscat, Oman, to be exact—was nothing short of amazing. I planned it in less than a week, with no real plan outside of relaxing by the pool/beach, and maybe a city tour. Truth be told, I didn’t know much about Muscat at all—just that it’s a hidden gem often compared to Dubai. I was simply looking for somewhere warm with no rain that was less than 4 hour flight time away. šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø

Within hours of landing, God reminded me (again) that I am never alone. I connected with @blackariel31_ through a travel group we’re both in—only to discover she’s also a fellow #HU sister. 🦬 A few DMs and voice notes later, I was welcomed into a Black expat group in Oman, and before I knew it, I was at a party surrounded by people who started out as strangers and ended up feeling like lifelong connections. These pictures don't even cover a fraction of my experience.

From the moment I arrived, my weekend was overflowing with celebration, support, hospitality, luxury, sisterhood, and adventure. All that pool time I had planned became an after-thought. I was booked and busy! šŸ˜†

Courage and curiosity keep leading the way. More importantly it’s God’s angels, favor, and a little bit of common sense that carry me through this season of my global expansion.

I will definitely be back to Oman very soon. @blackariel31_ Thank You for EVERYTHING!

If you haven't thought about traveling to the Middle East, let this be your inspiration to put it on your list. Don't let mainstream media fool you. There are a lot of beautiful and extremely safe places with beautiful souls all around the world ready to receive you and show you a good time! Just do your research 🤣

Stay tuned for my next adventure. 🌹

Week 2 Complete! #proofoflife

I’m operating in a space where EVERYTHING—and EVERYONE—is new.
From how I shop to how I communicate…
From what, when, and how I eat, to how I cross the street, conduct transactions, and get around…
From how I show up at work to how I stay connected to friends, family, and colleagues…
The sounds, the traffic...
Even to what I can access on TV and social media is different.

And then there is how I show up as a vibrant thriving Black American woman- I am both challenged by and contiunously exploring and redefining.

Depsite all the newness- one that is deeply unfamiliar and shockingly familar, I find comfort in the small wins and growing sense of ease, FAR East.

Here are a few tasty delights from the week:
1) Me! I ditched the cardigan twin set and remembered from whence I came 🤣. A Lil skin in the workplace never hurt anybody.
2) A beautiful arrangement to welcome me to the office and to India.
3-4) I am many things at the moment, but hungry isn't one of them. The office serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks. There is a good balance of veg and non veg options. 5 days x week.
5-20) Joy filled moments exploring Bangalore's dining scene with my growing community out here.

If you have made it this far, thank you for reading. Thank you for the check-ins and continued prayers. Thank you for coming on this transformative journey with me. We're just getting started! Buckle Up Buttercup!

In Lentils and Love šŸŒ¹šŸ§˜šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø,
