We had a wild summer thunderstorm rip through the area yesterday evening and it overturned this lovely wild cherry tree that was very special to me. Not only did it provide a lot of shade, but it was a beautiful tree that just had the nicest placement on the farm. I’ve decided that I will replace it with a standard size heirloom apple tree. In the meantime, our generator kicked in and sourdough breads were finished in time for Chelsea farmers market. They sold out! Squirrel’s nest granola cookies were a hit and the day finished on a note of bartering with @tantrefarm: Soulful garlic, new red potatoes, and some wee little squirrel sized hazelnuts. by @wildapplefarms
