This ibex or rather bouquetin as he is French was completely unphased when i met him today while wondering around the steep ground of the Haute Giffre. He posed for some photos while grazing. Such a magnificent beast!

This summer I packed the bag and went alone into the mesmerizing expanse in central Norway with some 30kg of kit on my back.
It was a 6 day disconnect, venting of the negative, and inhaling new life back into me.
Some pics here cannot really give justice to this experience but might encourage you to try soemthing similar 🙂

Some highlights from my 4 day hike around Vinstra and Espedalen.
120km with 25-30kg of camping gear.
Great experience to just walk for days and pitch camp whenever in this pristine marshland.

Biggest positives: pristine nature and a unique biome in the state of rapid degradation due to climate change. Wonderful light and colours; vast areas without any human presence.
Biggest nuisances: a lot of insects and some swampy trails barely visible; heat - sunscreen+ longsleeve breathables and a full head cover are a must.

Peaks of Jotunheimen in the background.
Will explore around and then inevitably end up in these crags.

Norway is a great spot if you are a troll and like to sit in the swamp, on a hill, in a gorge or simply in the woods.
