Some things are just better in the wild.

Freshly brewed coffee. Something delicious, made right on the beach. Salt-skinned, wind-swept afternoons with friends. And beautiful things made for a life well lived.

The towels featured here are by @barrydale_hand_weavers , part of my Wild Borne curated collection.

Find them through the link 🔗 in my bio, and use my code ✨ BHWILD15 ✨ to enjoy 15% off your purchase.

I’m working on my riding fitness for their beach rides, and multi-day day trails along the coastline. What a vibe!

Big love to @rosnale for filming me 🫶 by @wildborne_

Freshly foraged mussels, with cream, golden beets and nori - soaked up with freshly baked bread 🐚

I picked mussels and nori in Hermanus, in preparation for our plan to make dinner before sunset. It was windstill at Die Plaat, and I had a ball driving the 4x4 trail in the Jimny (my best purchase of all time), which resulted in some much-needed whooping and laughter.

Alex poured the wine — their own @goodluckhomestead Pantherina — while Tabby made the mussels on my cool new stove.

It was a feast for the senses 🤎 by @wildborne_

Now that’s the kind of heavy hand you want pouring your Amarula 😆

Our Ranger Coffee and breakfast situation on the jetty was made even more gorgeous with hand-weaved table linens from @barrydale_hand_weavers

If you’re looking for a wild reset under 2 hours from Cape Town, farm stays at Goodluck Homestead is where the wild things are.

Stress slipped away at the first stroll through the fynbos, and upon the first dive into their picturesque swimming dam. Morning swims were rewarded with hot baths, while the kettle whistled with the promise of a second cup of coffee.

After a day of exploration and sun, we lit the braai, the indoor fire and the firepit, tucking into grass-fed beef from the farm shop, and waterblommetjies that we’d foraged.

I took two of my dearest friends from Cape Town for a sundowner at @stanford_manor_house before Pizza Night at @sondagskloof - and I highly recommend following in our footsteps! 🍸 by @wildborne_

Something I’m loving about us humans right now, is that we’re responding to AI, polished fake images, fast fashion and consumption culture, by seeking out authenticity.

We want experiences that feed our souls. We’re craving nature. We’re travelling locally. We’re investing in craftsmanship, just as trade and craft knowledge decline.

We want food from local growers, and we want to learn to forage or grow it ourselves. We’re investing in goods that stand the test of time. And we’re repairing the things that we already own. 🪡 🧵

We’ve come to value the humanity in things - which is to acknowledge the soul of things.

Denim that’s worn in. Boots that tell a tale. The feeling of staring at a fire, while a meal is cooking slowly over the coals. AI could never.

I’m proud to be part of the rebellion.
