I took a bit of a risk entering the dreaded “bird on a stick” photo into last night’s Seeker of Light competition… 😂

I was fully prepared for:
“It’s just a bird on a stick.” ✅
“Not another kingfisher!” ✅

Yep, I got them both! 🤣

But the grilling wasn’t nearly as bad as I’d expected, the little bird on a stick scored 20 and came 2nd overall! 🥈

I’ll happily take that! 💙🧡 by @wildbysam

No plans. No rush. Just Sunday. 🐨

I wonder what was going through his mind at this exact moment… What do you think? 🖤

Who needs a full tail display when you already look this handsome? 🦚💙

Photographed on my travels through India - those beautiful blues and that little crown were enough to catch my eye!

Something a little different tonight… a hornet having a wasp for dinner! 😳

I spotted something big flying past me and watched it land. A closer look revealed this!

I love bees and could happily spend all day watching them, but this huge hornet had me feeling a little less brave! Still, curiosity won… and I couldn’t resist a photo 📸😂

Definitely wasn’t going to interrupt its dinner! 🍽️

A beautiful Indian Roller.
Think he was just checking his wings were working before making a dramatic exit… 💙🪽

A little splash, a flap of the wings… and a rather proud pose! 💦🪶

A little windswept, but still the finest fisherman on the river. 💙🐟
Swipe to see the catch →

World meet Bob! I sat and watched this little beauty all day yesterday. He wasn’t at all bothered by the storm, returning time after time. Even the fish was posing nicely for this one! We named him Bob as he bobbed his head just before diving for his catch! 💙🐟📸 by @wildbysam

A little rain wasn’t going to dull those blues 💙🌧️ A kingfisher brightening up a very wet day.

I thought he was just having a good scratch… until he pulled the branch down, snapped it off and stood eating the leaves! 😂🌿 Lovely to spend time watching this handsome boy go about his morning. Swipe to see him getting stuck in 🦌
