Indigenous Peoples' Day weekend is here, and the trolls are popular. Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11 are SOLD OUT.

Our parking lots and roads fill up quickly, and if you arrive without a reservation, you could get stuck in traffic and still not get in.

Want to visit this week?

Monday, October 12: Limited tickets remain
Weekdays (Oct 5–9 and Oct 13–16): Good availability, smaller crowds, and the best fall color views

All visits require a timed-entry ticket booked online in advance: wildcenter.org/tickets

If you have a ticket for the weekend:

☑️ Come during your scheduled entry window
☑️ Carpool if you can
☑️ Expect busy roads around Tupper Lake

The trolls will be here through October 31. Choosing a quieter day helps make the visit better for everyone, including the trolls. by @wildcenter

TROLLS: Save the Humans is drawing some of the biggest crowds in Wild Center history, and the energy on campus has been unreal. Thank you, Adirondacks (and beyond)!

A few friendly tips to make your visit the best it can be:

⏰ Come in the afternoon. Arriving later in the day means for shorter lines and less wait. Remember, in July and August we're staying open until 7pm!

📅 Pick a weekday. Mid-week days are our quietest days — more room to roam, more time with each troll.

🚗 Heads up on parking: On busy, non-school days, we're using overflow parking at LP Quinn Elementary School. Just follow directions from our staff when you arrive!

Big crowds mean a little extra patience at admissions and on the trails — we're so grateful for yours. Plan a little ahead, and we'll see you (and the trolls) soon!

Last chance to hunt for the 6 trolls from my exhibition Trolls: Save The Humans at The Wild Center! 🤠

Built from reclaimed materials, the six troll are here to remind us to get back into nature and take better care of the earth.

You’ve got until October 31st to find them all. And while you’re out there, make sure to say hi to Patrick Sapling too! 😉

Today is the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. Here at The Wild Center, we acknowledge that we are situated on the traditional lands of the Haudenosaunee and Abenaki peoples. Indigenous knowledge and relationships to the land are relevant to understanding the Adirondack region in tandem with scientific knowledge. With that in mind, we recognize Orange Shirt Day with these handmade pins to honor Indigenous people from both the past, and the present.

See our story for more information and resources.

One of the coolest stops in the Adirondacks 🌲🏆

The Wild Center was named the number 1 Best Science Museum in the U.S. by USA TODAY’s 10Best — and this is definitely not your typical museum. Walk through the treetops on Wild Walk, explore the trails, and right now you can find 6 GIANT trolls hidden throughout the forest. 👀

The trolls are only here for a limited time, so add this one to your fall Adirondacks bucket list! 🍂

Have you had a chance to search for any of our beautiful new animal sculptures yet? Thanks to talented local artist Larry Robjent @robjentsculptures, several new upcycled art pieces can be found around our campus, highlighting some of the most iconic Adirondack species like the Wood Turtle!

Did you know that Wood Turtles like to dance? They will sometimes stomp their feet on the ground, mimicking the vibrations of falling rain and attracting worms to the surface! Then they get to enjoy some tasty snacks 🪱

The Wild Center is also home to several ambassador Wood Turtles of our own! Stop by to get a chance to see them in the museum as well as the other sculptures on our trails 🐢
