A little over a year ago Wild Cycles’ @jon.schnapps and @johngheard went on a ride of a lifetime @torinonicerally - quite possibly in the realm of being life-changing.

Traws Eryri (Trans Snowdonia) is another one of Wales’ off-road stunners.

Crossing 225km’s (4400m) of pure Snowdonian ruggedness - Traws Eryri is one of the country’s most beautiful wild routes, linking Machynlleth in Powys to Conwy Castle - both accessible by train.

It’s a special one as @jon.schnapps and crew discovered.

Another circle is complete!

Huge thanks to the fabulous gang for coming along for a Wild King Alfred’s Way and congrats for completing the c.350km route in pretty much perfect conditions.

Over the years we’ve had the pleasure of taking people out on wild and beautiful rides - and KAW is still up there as one of the best.

There’s double delight when it’s with such a fabulous n friendly bunch of people who have clearly loved every moment the 4-day adventure. Soaking up the spectacular scenery in glorious weather, enjoying delicious wholesome meals, sharing stories around the table together … doesn’t get much better than that!

We’ve been running King Alfred’s Way tours for 5 years now and it’s still as popular as ever.
We’ll be rolling out onto the fab trails again next weekend.

It’s easy to see why it is still considered one of the UK’s must-do off-road epics.

Covering approximately 350km the spectacular route starts and finishes in Winchester - England’s ancient capital.

Surprisingly wild, unsurprisingly beautiful the tour links some of the region’s much-loved routes: South Downs Way, North Downs Way, England’s oldest “road” The Ridgeway and the Thames Path.

If that’s not enough there are countless historic sites some of the oldest Neolithic sites. - Stonehenge, Avebury Stones, Wayland’s Smithy, the prehistoric Uffington Horse et al.

Finally the 2026 seasoning finalé.

Couldn’t have wished for a more fabulous weekend with this merry bunch - to round off the Intro to off-road riding season @muchbetteradventures

50km on Saturday and 30km Sunday in the undulating Chiltern terrain. That is no mean feat for most who have rarely ventured off-road.
Well done to everyone who has come along for the ride this year.
Not to mention the delicious, wholesome meals and round-the-table socialisations.

Yesterday’s eclipse was a fully wholesome, joyful communal event.

Just fabulous to see people come together to celebrate this special celestial occasion…together.

Someone had setup a makeshift “viewer” from bits of plastic, silver foil and gaffa tape, another a colander to another who’d rigged up a Kelloggs cornflake carton…all willing to share (the equipment and the experience itself).

Wholesome, joyful and just lovely.

Can we have more eclipses or other celestial events to bring people together like this….🙏🏽 taken in Hyde Park, London by @wildcycles.cc
