I've spent much of this weekend in bed, in pain, feeling frustrated at everything I'm not getting done.

Eight months ago, I was involved in a car accident. What started with whiplash and back pain has turned into months of appointments, medication, physiotherapy and trying to find answers.

And somewhere amongst all of that, I've been running a business.

The thing about being a business owner is that your brain doesn't necessarily switch off when your body needs to.

I'm still thinking about the next Wild Isle project, the children we support, the team, the finances, the admin I haven't caught up on and the million things I want to achieve.

But chronic pain is exhausting. Not just physically, but mentally.

I've spent months adapting, pushing through and convincing myself I can manage. This week has been a reminder that sometimes I simply can't.

I'm incredibly grateful to have a team who can keep things moving when I can't, and I'm learning that being a good business owner doesn't mean being available or capable of everything, all the time.

I'm sharing this because social media tends to show the exciting bits of building a business. The achievements, the growth, the lovely moments.

But sometimes entrepreneurship looks like this. A cardigan, a pile of pillows and a head full of ideas that will have to wait.

And that's part of the story too. 🌿

Please bear with me while I recover! Most of you know that my back has been playing up since the crash I was in back in February.

This week things have gotten much worse with an awful flare up of pain. I'm out of action for a while as I recover and am very dosed up on super strong pain meds.

Socials will still have stuff uploaded as Libby is still taking the lead I just felt the need to post to let everyone know. If I've not replied to a message you've sent to us, please be patient with me!

It felt special to be treated by one of our lovely Wild Isle mummas yesterday up at St Mary's! Dr Fia, you are bloody wonderful and thanks for seeing the pain I was in!

Yesterday’s Blooming Buds session was inspired by the book ‘The Leaf Thief’. One of the activities included painting Autumnal landscapes. By setting activities that link to literature it gains the children’s attention and allows for engagement in the book’s content. by @wildislenatureschool

Do it scared! Two years ago I made the massive decision to leave classroom teaching and start @wildislenatureschool . People told me I was brave. I left a stable income to start something that worked for me. It's been a grueling two years of putting in the time. I've had some of the biggest supporters and some people telling me that I'm working too much - they have now been removed from my life. If you know me, you know that nobody tells me what to do! I've put in the hours and had great help from loved ones along the way and finally in May I was no longer a one man band. It blows my mind that we're now a team of 8 (well, the husband is an unpaid member 😝)!

Over the weekend I've had a trip to The Class Business Awards with @iamkristinemonaghan and I couldn't be more thrilled to have been in the room with many incredible business owners. I didn't walk away with an award but Wild Isle came second in the adult class provider category. To be recognised as the country's second best adult class is just a phenomenal achievement and I am so proud of my beautiful team! Wild Women is something that I started because it is exactly what I needed a few years ago and it didn't exist. To now be recognised for this incredible work feels so special! Yesterday I met some amazing people and there will be more to come from the great connections made.

Now I'm off to read a book that I picked up in The Spicy Librarian earlier today on my drive home. 😂 taken in National Conference Centre by @wildislenatureschool
