NEW NAME. SAME ME.

I just ripped the Band-Aid off and changed my name to something that feels much more authentic and aligned given what this account has evolved into. It's amazing in life, how sometimes we have one idea of where a path will take us and we end up going somewhere unexpected. When I created ezzy_collective, I had a little metaphysical boutique and my idea for this account was that it would be a platform for some kind of a community based expansion of connection and mindfulness. But somewhere along the way of discovering what I really needed in my life, I found wildlife photography and that's what this account became. I thought I needed something more and I did, it just wasn't what I thought it would be. It was so much more. by @wildlifebybec

WHY WILDLIFE?

This is the question I'm asked most often by literally everyone including other wildlife photographers. Simply put, I love it, but if I take a deep look it's more than just loving it. It's the wholeness of it. I fully enjoy capturing the candid moments found in portraits and haunting mysteries of architecture.
I first fell in love with photography when I learned how to beauty of simple objects. And I truly enjoy the excitement of capturing events. But with wildlife photography it's everything. There's no hesitation in my obsession with wildlife. I love capturing the moment, but I also love sitting with it. I love the images, but I also fiercely love the subjects. JUVENILE

I was walking along the trail, actually ready to head home for the day when I saw this sweet little juvenile, barred owl in the middle of a late morning hunt. I'm honestly kind of surprised I noticed her! She was quite far away, so I'm really glad I had my @sonyalpha 200-600mm and high megapixel a7RV for some much needed extra reach (Pretty sure I used crop sensor mode) and cropping flexibility.
