POSTS STORIES REELS

A Long-eared Owl I captured recently. It gave me the most surpricing experience so far, when it came up in front of me, hovering only 30-40 cm from my face, looking straight into my eyes, like asking what I was doing there. I stood very still for a while, only moving my head and eyes, so I guess that was the reason why it came that close to check on me. It settled in a tree few metres away, but as soon as I tried to move my camera in position, it moved 10 more metres away, still within a perfect reach for some decent shots. I didn't hear the owlets. They were probably resting, and I left without even looking for them. It's important not to disturb too much, even though they chose to have their territory close to a settlement.

A throwback to a lovely moment, where this Moose calf and its mum stopped for a few seconds, exactly where the sun forced some light through the woods...

Last night, just before it got dark, a Northern Hawk-owl was catching a huge mouse, bringing it up on an old branch I have placed there for exactly such a moment. Yay 🤩🙌🏻 - - - super high ISO though...

Northern Hawk-owl fledgling going for a hunt! So amazing to witness them flying around on their own.

Northern Hawk-owl chick. This little fledgling was all by itself, in July. But I guess it still got fed every now and then. Or maybe hunger had already gotten it hunting on its own...
