Men’s mental health matters every day, not just in June.

This is a project I created back in 2024 with the incredible @louiethebee_ and the strongest man I know, @phoenixkabali.

What made this project so special wasn’t just the final images, it was the vulnerability, honesty, and courage it took to create them. In a world that often tells men to stay silent, suppress their emotions, and carry every burden alone, choosing to be seen is an act of strength.

Behind every smile, every “I’m good,” and every strong exterior, there can be battles we never see. That’s why conversations around mental health matter. That’s why creating safe spaces for men to be human matters.

This project will always hold a special place in my heart because it reminded me that some of the strongest people I know are also carrying some of the heaviest things. It reminded me that strength is found in honesty. It’s found in the willingness to say, “I’m struggling,” “I need help,” or simply, “I’m not okay.”

As a photographer/ Videographer and storyteller, I’ve learned that the most powerful imagery aren’t always the ones with perfect lighting or composition. They’re the ones that tell the truth. The ones that reveal the parts of ourselves we often try to hide. The ones that make people feel less alone.

I think about the men in my life, the fathers, sons, brothers, partners, friends, and community members who show up every day carrying responsibilities, expectations, and pressures that often go unseen. So many have been taught to survive quietly. To keep moving no matter how heavy life becomes. To suffer in private.

But healing was never meant to happen in isolation.

To every man reading this: you do not have to earn rest. You do not have to prove your worth through suffering. You do not have to carry every burden alone.

If I’m being real… this moment hit different.

Because behind the scenes, I’ve been doing the work. Quietly. Consistently. Pushing myself to grow, to be more disciplined, and to evolve into a stronger version of myself.

Being part of this collaboration with @exploreprovidenceplace alongside @rafaekspvd, @sydneydarrowart, (@arewefreelance), with the support of our community and THE PEOPLE’S MAYOR @davidmoralespvd… it reminded me that I’m still her.
Still creative.
Still impactful.
Still becoming.

Thank you @exploreprovidenceplace for creating space for us to be seen and celebrated.

To the beautiful couple in the photo @iambrianaebony @swaggon_amill , from the moment we shot this session together I knew it would create an impact , thank you for trusting me and allowing me to document the beautiful connection between the two of you 🫶🏽

Yesterday we gathered to unveil a collaboration between @exploreprovidenceplace and four artists, @rafeakspvd, @sydneydarrowart, @wildones.media and myself (@arewefreelance), with the support of our family, community, and THE PEOPLE’S MAYOR @davidmoralespvd 🙏🏾

Thank you to all who came out, excited to share pictures from the event soon, and highly encourage you all to check out the “BLACK LOVE” exhibit at the mall along the skybridge wall, on display um, indefinitely? But check it out soon!

Thursday was such an amazing night! In collaboration with @davidmoralespvd and @as220.youth , 15 of our Students receive State Awarded Citations! Although some could not make it they were still celebrated in spirit! This was awarded to them for their constant commitment, dedication to their craft, and for their exhibition of leadership while attending the AS220 Youth Program. Day in and day out, week after week, these students not only show up for themselves but they often enrich the experience of their peers. They are living examples of how hard work pays off. I am beyond honored and blessed to have been able to educate such incredible students. The skills and character they have both in, and out of the classroom inspire hope, and every day they inspire me. Congratulations again to all you. Ya’ll truly have earned it.
