The Portal is restocked and I’m officially headed into the woods. 🌈🌲✨

Before leaving town for the week, I had to make sure the Wild Prism Art Portal was FULL of magic.

This drop has a little bit of everything: mugs, jewelry, and even a candle I made from one of my very first pieces of pottery. 🥹

AND this is extra exciting because @SarahReesorCeramics added some of her gorgeous work to the Portal too! I absolutely love seeing this little experiment become a place for other artists to share their work. 💕

One tiny favor if you take something: please snap a pic! Tag me or send it my way. Seeing these pieces in their new homes has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the Portal.

Now I’m off to my mom’s cabin in the UP of Michigan, where I’ll be mostly offline soaking up the beginning of fall. 🍂

Yeah… they’re definitely NOT like us. 🌈😂

And the wildest part? Every one of these thrifted pieces was made with a SINGLE dye. 🤯

Where are my fellow makers, artists & creative weirdos?!? 🙋‍♀️

I’m not famous. I’m just over here making pottery, jewelry, ice dyeing thrifted clothes and generally trying every craft that catches my attention. 😂

These thrifted cargo pants (@uptownaustin)are my latest experiment, ice dyed with @dharmatradingco Dalulu Nova. Yep, all that color came from ONE dye. 🤯

But mostly, I want to find more people making cool shit.

Living a little more like Dolly 💖

Stop worrying about messing it up. Stop worrying about getting it “right.” Take the risk, play, make weird shit, and do more of what you love.

That feels like a pretty damn good way to honor Dolly. ✨

And speaking of taking creative risks, this is my first ever geode-dyed tablecloth and napkin set, and I am OBSESSED.

The turquoise, rust, dusty pink, purple, smoky brown… HOW?!?

Rusted Blue for the win yet again. 🙌

Can you believe this is ONE dye?!? 🤯

Okay, this might officially be my favorite thrifted jumpsuit yet.

This was my first attempt at geode ice dyeing, which involved tying the thrifted jumpsuit with waxed thread to create all those crazy organic lines and rings.

Then I used just ONE dye: @dharmatradingco new Dalula Rusted Blue.

ONE. DYE.

And somehow I got rust, coral, pink, turquoise, teal, smoky brown and everything in between. The color splitting is absolutely insane.

I’m completely obsessed with the unpredictability of ice dyeing. You choose the dye and the technique, but then you kind of have to surrender and let the magic happen.

And she looks even better ON. 😍

Yeah… I think I have a new favorite.

Red, white, blue… and a whole lot of ice dye magic ❤️🤍💙

I found this ridiculously cute @cottonon On dress at @uptowncheapskate and immediately knew it was destined for a Fourth of July Ice Dye with @jacquardproducts Procion MX Dye Color Set.

Of course, I couldn’t let Ken miss out, so he got a matching shirt too. 🇺🇸

Now all we need is somewhere to celebrate our freedom… and our cuteness. 😍

I started this as a fun little experiment, but I have a feeling ice dyeing might be my newest creative obsession.

First studio day in June = rainbow clay day 🌈✨

There was really no other option.

❤️ It’s Pride Month, and love is love.
🌧️ Texas has been blessed with some much-needed rain.
🎨 And honestly, I’ll take any excuse to play with color.

This rainbow slab is just the beginning. Over the next few days, it will transform into four different nerikomi patterns: stripes, waves, jelly rolls, and mokume gane.

One of my favorite things about clay is how many possibilities can come from the same starting point. A little planning, a little chaos, and a whole lot of color.

Stay tuned if you’d like to learn some nerikomi basics and see how these patterns develop. I can’t wait to see where this one takes us.
