🕸️ Happy November! 🕸️ It was all about the cobwebs yesterday morning. They looked so pretty in the fog 🌫️ We spotted some mushrooms too 🍄‍🟫 And Miss Willow was blending in wonderfully with the autumn leaves 🍂 😁 Swipe 👉 to take a wander through the fog with us and go right to the end for October’s last sunset 🌅

Have a great week! 🐾🤗✨🍂

When most of our morning walks are in the dark, it can get trickier to see the glimmers. So, we’ve been looking out for shimmers instead, in the form of glittering stars ✨😁 Last weeks clear skies were a joy and the quiet means I’m more attuned to the sounds of owls calling and leaves crunching too 🍂 The shadows and silhouettes of curious foxes never fail to make me smile either 🦊

Photos taken on my iPhone, so not the greatest but I like them anyway 🙃🙂

🍂 It’s certainly beginning to look Autumnal out there now isn’t it? 🍂 We had a couple of lovely wanders last week before the rain started ~ with some cute mushrooms and beautiful buzzard feathers 🪶😌 If anyone knows what the caramelised looking mushrooms towards the end are ~ please let me know! 😁🍄🤷‍♀️

Happy new week!

Hello there 😊 It has been a minute hasn’t it? This year, I think I might have been doing my hibernating over summer…. Since the start of which, the fields closest to us that Willow and I walk are in the process of being turned into a business park, school and housing estate. Which has honestly left me feeling quite desolate. I am finding it incredibly difficult to walk past and see the destruction. Even just typing this brings tears to my eyes. And so I’ve been avoiding a place that I’ve loved so very much for many years. It will sound stupid to some I’m sure, but it feels like losing an old friend - a lot of old friends really ~ the barn owl, my favourite tree and the immense sense of peace wild places bring 🌳 As a consequence, I have hardly any photos from the summer, maybe 50 total, where that was once my daily count!
•
There are of course other, further away fields, we enjoy walking in - and so I will endeavour to come out of hibernation for autumn and share what I can of our summer too. This little series is from a particularly lovely orange and purple morning in August 💜🧡

Big hugs from Willow & I 🤗 by @wildwanderswithclare

🌾 Willow is happy to be back in the long grass again after her toe injury last week 😊 And I’m very grateful for longer walks and a truly magical morning 😌 We haven’t seen the barn owl we once saw daily since September 😢 But this morning, there he (or perhaps another one) was 😁 I took a little video of him flying into the tree line of another field and I’m actually hoping that he’s moved there as he’ll be safer. I’m hearing that it’s a good year for barn owls, which is wonderful news!🦉🤞
•
We also discovered a pretty new wildflower growing along the lane. Lacy Phacelia 💜👉 Swipe to have a look 👀 Not one we’ve seen before and it’s so pretty 😍
•
Whatever your Wednesday brings, we hope it’s kind ✌️🫶🐾

✨ Fields full of thistles, fiery & golden skies and two days of walking through dozens of Marbled Whites 🦋 Last week, we definitely made the most of the cooler fields at dawn and sunrise 😊
•
I’ve added a little video of one of the Marbled Whites at the end 👉 They were everywhere, it was really incredible 😍
•
I hope your week gets off to a wonderful start! ✌️🐾🌞

🌼 A morning walk amongst the flowers in the woods was how we started yesterday 🌼 There must have been hundreds of Ox Eye Daisies but it was these pretty, large Yellow Loosestrife on the very edge of the woodland that caught my eye 💛 I don’t think I’ve ever seen them before, and they’re really rather lovely aren’t they? 😊

✨ What a gorgeous start to the weekend ✨
•
I’ll be at work again today, but as it was set to be a beautiful morning, we were out the door at 4 for a two hour walk 🐾 Willow appreciates the cool, morning air and dawn into sunrise will forever be my favourite time of day 😌
•
Have a good one! ✌️🐾 ☀️
