Happy Birthday to @hightidesb ! Thanks to @wilglass for holding down this corner of downtown SB for 16 years. High Tide is old enough to drive! What a huge accomplishment. Congrats Wil, Skelly, and all the other amazing people that make that place special, on another year.

High Tide is an important space in our community and we should all do what we can to support it and spaces like it!

There is still time to sign up for our upcoming 2-day Intro to Sculpting Class with @wheezyglass ! Spots are filling up quickly and our space is relatively small, so if you’ve been thinking about signing up it’s a great time to do so! Class is in session July 6-7, and will cover a wide variety of hollow and solid glass sculpting techniques. @jakethehuman.glass will be there as TA!

We cant wait to have @wheezyglass and all of you who’ve signed up already in the shop!

July 6-7 we will be hosting our friend @wheezyglass for a 2-day class focused on the basics of sculpting in borosilicate glass!

Wheezy is a recent graduate of the Scientific Glass Technology program at @scc.glass.center and a talented sculptor and visual artist. If you’re hoping to expand your understanding of how to successfully bring your artistic vision into reality through borosilicate glass, using scientific foundations to unlock your creativity, don’t miss this class!

This was some of the last glass I made by hand as tendinitis hit my left wrist in my 5th year of pipe making. I opened this box and was reminded of the countless 16 hour days working till my eyes wanted to close, just to open them first thing in the morning and run out to the kiln to see what I made. 31 years into this beautiful career and I just want to whole heartedly thank everyone of you who I have worked with, talked about glass with, sold a piece to, and shared that first bowl with out of one of my pieces. I am in a deep world of gratitude for this life I live and the people I get to share this journey with.
3 years in Eugene
4 years in Vancouver BC
4 years in Portland
4 years in LA
And 18years in Santa Barbara
That math should equal 31 years on the torch, it doesn’t must be some overlapping times in there. Anyway this is a post to say I love my life!! I feel so blessed. Choosing glass has to be the best decision I ever made.🫶🫶🫶 taken in High Tide Santa Barbara by @wilglass

Here’s a recent marble I made with my good friend @wilglass ‘ always stunning particle collider prep, with a fume implosion of mine backing it. A lot of people do fume scratch/stringer techs, but Wil’s just come insanely nice and are always a cut above the rest in my opinion. The way the layers colors underneath the fume section always make them pop extra hard. It’s always feels extra special to get one in with the man who opened the door to the glass world for me. Thanks @wilglass !
