Rehearsal started off rocky when the cable to our sound system wasn’t working. We rehearsed the ceremony sans-music when a new cord was brought out and we had sound! We ran through the ceremony again and all felt good about it.

Following the rehearsal was our rehearsal dinner. We ate fish fry on the lawn of the harbor, teary eyed to a speech given by Brett’s mom. We ate, laughed, and took in the incredible view.

After a quick outfit change, we welcomed in my new last name on Thursday with our Hawaiian themed “Aloha Morris” welcome party. The wedding guest list showed up and showed out with their bright floral dresses and Hawaiian shirts. Who doesn’t love a themed party!? Brett’s sister helped us kick off the weekend with all of our guests by giving a speech, not forgetting to mention all the times Brett purposely missed out on chores as a kid growing up.

Live music by Mac Corey played while the piña coladas were flowing. This was the perfect time for us to greet all of our guests before the big day. Our bridal party and courageous guests took the stage to say a few words. We ended night 1 with a massive pool party and everyone jumped in with their outfits on.

Friday. The big day was here. Brett and I walked to a local coffee shop to get the jitters out and practice our personal vows. Truthfully, we didn’t even think we were going to say them at the ceremony in front of everyone until we did this. Time quickly slipped away as we got ready until guests arrived and the big moment was here.

We toasted with champagne immediately after the ceremony on the lawn with everyone. A 172 person champagne toast - it was epic. We enjoyed cocktail hour with Bahama Bob on the steel drums - embellishing the already beautiful harbor filled with boats.

We ran upstairs to the ballroom for a quick room reveal before being introduced back into cocktail hour for our first dance. We ran into the ceremony to “Welcome to the Jungle” to get the party started. It was truly a rockin 🤟🏼 day. We danced the night away to DJ Benado with a late night band appearance from the Sons of Sconnie. The night finished with a circle of friends, all chanting my new last name. by @wilk.films

Introducing The Summers 🤍

A fall wedding at Straits Chapel in Kohler, Wisconsin, with the kind of October day that kept us on our toes—in the best and windiest way possible.

The wind was very determined to be part of the wedding day, but honestly? We worked with it. The veil flew, the dress moved, the trees showed off their fall color, and somehow it all made the photographs feel even more alive.

The architecture at Straits Chapel, the beautiful fall landscape around Kohler, the soft florals, and these two together made this such a beautiful Wisconsin wedding to photograph.

And one of my favorite things about photographing weddings in Kohler is that there is so much variety in such a small area. Beautiful architecture, natural landscapes, incredible light, and spaces that photograph beautifully in every season.

The Summers, you two were worth chasing the wind for. 🤍
