Tune into Brain Waves this Sunday (27th Sept) from 7-9pm! Yes: after a year of great tunes, superb psychology and terrible jokes, we unfortunately have to bring the number 1 psychology-based music show (sorry @mindmatters.ury , we’ve had this bit going for a while!) to an end. It’s not a personal thing: we’re both still mates and no one’s been mysteriously poisoned (yet), we’ve just both got a lot of stuff to deal with as we head into third year (@el_green73 with academics, and @will.de.stijl with a BRAND NEW SUPER SECRET PROJECT, more on that later) and that unfortunately meant the writing was on the wall for Brain Waves (though we might do one-off episodes in the future if time allows.) Please tune in if you can: this show’s gonna be a big one - ‘going out with a bang, not a whimper’ and all that - so it’d mean a tonne to both of us. Tune in on ury.org.uk, on 88.3fm, or ask your smart speaker to ‘play University Radio York’ - and don’t worry if your miss us, because we’ll be on demand at the link in our bio! #psychology #psychologytoday #radiohost #ury taken in University Radio York by @will.de.stijl

“IF I HAD A @roughtrade AT WALKING DISTANCE, I’D BE BROKE!” After genuinely 3 years of trying to make it happen I FINALLY VISITED @fleurslilliam IN LONDON! She’s honestly one of my favourite people so it was lovely to see her again - and in the hipstery bit of london too! I bought the last limited edition @phoebebridgers vinyl at @roughtradeeast , saw a genuine @kylieminogue turd in a jar (cheers @thelasttuesdaysociety - you were all lovely!), saw some great art and artifacts - and handled some genuine Blackstar lyric sheets - at @vam_east , FINALLY got to try @templeofseitan after like 5 years of wanting too (it’s gorgeous, get on it) , wore some insane and incredible jackets at @good.fluff , and topped it off with a night at @heavenlgbtclub powered by @buzzballz_uk and a Maggie on the side! Also some actually quite nice blokes outside tried to sell me coke and I thought they were on about the drink. A superb time - cheers Fleur for having me, we HAVE to do it again (albiet when grant money comes in 😭) by @will.de.stijl

Finally able to post about this: I’M AN ARTIST LIASON FOR @bbcintroducing ! Anyone who knows me knows local music is an obsession of mine, so being able to help spotlight up-and-coming artists alongside an incredible team (@abbey.rawlings.music , @alice.parker01 , @ellgawne_ , and my fellow AL @lilac.kem23 ) is a huge honour for me. Just saying @jerichokeys, if you ever need someone to cover your presenting I might know a guy… by @will.de.stijl

“YOU’VE DEFINITELY EARNED THOSE TWELVE POINTS!” I’ve been lucky enough to begin a work placement alongside @victoriacharlesyork at @theyorkmix ! I’ve learned tonnes about commercial radio presenting, gotten to grips with Adobe Audition, and even produced an advert and some song transitions that went out on air - and also got 12/20 on an on-air quiz. Not bad for Day 1! taken in YorkMix by @will.de.stijl
