As one of the most exciting players in @montanagrizbasketball history, @will__cherry was a 3-time All-Big Sky Conference first-team selection, 2-time Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Year and earned numerous national recognition, including being placed on the 2012-13 Lou Hensen Mid-Major All-American Team.

To this day, Cherry remains Montana’s all-time steals leaders, while also ranking 6th for career assists and 12th for scoring. He is one of 5 Griz players with 1,000 points, 300 rebounds and 300 assists.

One of the most-dominant stretches in Griz Basketball history, Cherry’s teams went 93-35 overall and 55-11 in Big Sky Conference play, winning 2 regular-season (2012, 2013) and 3 tournament (2010, 2012, 2013) titles and qualifying for March Madness 3 times. #GoGriz taken in University of Montana by @will__cherry

On the plane coming home and I did something I rarely do and that’s turn my wifi on and this was the first message I received! I couldn’t even hold back the emotion and tears thinking about how I wished my grandma and uncles were hear to witness this😢😢! A kid from WEST OAKLAND, 29th/grandma block, Marcus Foster elementary, Lowell Middle school, and Mcclymonds High school is a Godamn HALL OF FAMER at the University of Montana!! Instilling the dream in kids that have a passion and drive to be what I am as a pro is the part of the job that I will NEVER get tired of!
