Back on @gtworldcheu duty this weekend at @circuitneversmagnycours - it only feels like yesterday that I was at the @crowdstrike24hoursofspa - this season is flying by. Here’s some shots from that amazing week, a week where we were treated to some amazing light and seemingly perpetual sunsets. Whilst half the world seemed to be at the #grandprixmonacohistorique this past weekend, I was chasing vintage rally cars around Scotland on this years Flying Scotsman rally - an event only open to pre-war machines. This year the rally travelled in a loop from Gleneagles to Aberdeen and back again, over three days and 600 miles. It’s always one of my favourite events of the year, there’s nothing quite like seeing the eclectic mix of cars being driven in anger, and the camaraderie between crews is always amazing. Here’s a small selection of some of my favourite shots from the weekend. Home after a fabulous Badawi Trail rally, 13 days of adventure around Saudi Arabia. These are some shots from the final few days of the rally, when even those that had retired and ended up in hire cars were still sending it! It was a rally that came close to not happening at all with everything that has been going on in the region. Thank fully it did, an as always the people of Saudi greeted us with kindness and friendship. For anyone who is interested, the full gallery is online at www.willbroadhead.com/badawitrail26

Yesterday we had the incredible privilege of running a competitive section through the Hisma desert and NEOM nature reserve, driving between the incredible sandstone spires of this 500 million year old landscape. There are some cars dotted about in these photos, but the landscape is the real star of the show. Day 8 of the Badawi Trail rally around Saudi Arabia. There have been rocks, sand and dust aplenty for the past few days. The cars are suffering, but there’s still a long way to go. There may not be much in the way of greenery over here, but the desert still makes for a brilliant playground and driving the sections with the cars is certainly a perk of the job. Tomorrow is a 760km day, and an early start, so I think it’s time to get some sleep… taken in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia by @will_broadhead_photo

Three days into the Badawi Trail rally, on a somewhat shortened route around Saudi Arabia. It’s been three long days in the saddle, covering nearly 2000 km, across deserts and over mountains. It’s been ace so far, even if we aren’t doing things quite as planned- for obvious reasons. The rally is 13 days long in total, ending in Jeddah, which is also where we began. Cracking weekend on the Isle of Man, photographing the Three Legs of Mann rally. The Island is one of my favourite places in the world, so it was great to be back on the rock, visiting familiar places and seeing old friends. This time last week this years Lands End to John O’ Groats rally was a few hours off getting underway. A 1500 mile journey from one end of the kingdom to the other. With unusually warm temperatures it was incredibly wet, with flooding and rain staying with us almost all the way to the top of Scotland. Most of the journey happens in the dark, and sleep is a rare commodity. Across the four days I had 10 hours sleep, but it’s great fun to shoot and Adrenalin keeps you on your toes. The final job of the year this weekend, the Lands End to John O’ Groats rally. 76 hours, 1500 miles and not much sleep. Most of it is at night, the weathers almost always vicious and sleep is an expensive commodity. It’s fun though. Probably. A break in the monsoon today at sunset offered a few precious moments of fantastic light, I will be hoping for the same when the rally starts in the morning, beginning the first of five legs as we go from tip to top. Home after a magic weekend photographing @heroerarally Rally of the Tests. We were treated to some tremendous light and weather, on an event that usually occurs in damp and freezing conditions. It makes capturing the spectacle of 70 odd classic rally cars sliding around in the mud just that bit more enjoyable. Hard to choose favourites, but this is a small selection from the event. Slightly missed the boat posting this, because I’m rubbish at social media and there are a million things I would rather be doing! But, nevertheless, last month I was delighted to have the front cover of @autosport with a shot of @oscarpiastri taken at the @mclaren lair back in the summer, my first proper cover shoot. I say shoot, I had approximately 90 seconds with Oscar to get the shot in the bag before he was hustled off to his next engagement. It all looks pretty serene, but buzzing around us were no end of other people, cameras, film crews and the McLaren team preparing the area for another event. After the rain comes the sun, and yesterday in Wales it was mostly sunny fo the @heroerarally and @historicrallycarregister HC3 rally. It was blink and you’ll miss it action, with a compact and intense schedule in the lanes of South Wales. The sun may have been out, but it was certainly chilly, with plenty of wind about and, plenty of puddles as well.
