i am excited to announce that the recording of my senior thesis project “STRANGERS” is now available to view! To celebrate here are some additional behind the scenes photos as well as some content/art and a song that didn’t make it into the final version.

Please find the link in my bio for the recording, along with my poetry i wrote for the piece and the official playlists.

Another huge thank you to everyone involved and to everyone who came out to see it live! i cannot wait to do this again 💜 taken in Viterbo University Fine Arts Center by @will_handrick

in addition to graduating from Viterbo University with my BFA in Theatre Stage Management this past week, I also presented my senior thesis project titled “STRANGERS.”

This piece went through many phases as I navigated how I wanted to leave my undergrad and what I felt myself and the school needed. I presented this piece as an abstract cabaret, performance art piece that included music, poetry and movement. Since starting work on it in late 2024, I decided that this piece would act as a reclaiming of my creativity and performance skills. My love for performing has never faltered, but after making a major/career path change I felt that I was no longer able to perform. I quickly realized that I could write my own path, and finally perform and sing how I wanted to. I felt so free on that stage; and I truly feel that I have taken something back.

In talking with attendees after the performance, I discovered that my piece did exactly what I wanted it to do. I stayed mysterious on purpose and people were not sure what to expect. Many folks told me that they “had a feeling in their chest” during the show, or that their “mind and body were experiencing different things.” This was my goal. I wanted to present something new, something strange, and most of all ambiguous. I wanted everyone who attended to take the piece as it came to them, however it may have done so.

Thank you to the people who attended this event, I cannot describe how much it meant to me to have my peers, professors and friends witness the liberation and strength I felt while presenting this piece. Without you all, I could not have done this. A special thanks goes out to my cast: Shea Grande, McKenzie Greenwood, Reagan Kettner, and Makayla Taylor; my stage manager Katie Schafer; my wonderful last minute photographer Connor Martin; and additional support from Jake Aune, Clay Corley, Teddy Eck, Benjamin Gonzales, and Jen Brown.

I will soon be sharing the recording of my project for people who were not able to attend, and for everyone to revisit if they’d like. I will also be sharing the two poems I wrote for this piece.

“You will see me again. And I shall prevail. For I am a God”
