There’s something undeniably restorative about escaping to the countryside in Winter, where the pace softens, the wine flows and the landscape seems to stretch endlessly into the horizon. There’s something special about Melbourne in Winter, the city slows down, the lights glow a little brighter and an overnight stay somehow feels like a true escape. Recently, we checked into @lancemorehotels Crossley St for a long overdue father/daughter getaway and it captured the season perfectly!Beginning with a quintessential Melbourne ritual of coffee and city shopping, the afternoon unfolded slowly with cocktails and small plates at a nearby bar before returning to the hotel just in time for Happy Hour in the lobby. Behind that red neon glow on Greville Street, something a little wicked has been unfolding upstairs — and this Winter, @gigi_by_entrecote is opening the doors to rewriting the rules! Entrecôte’s wicked little sister has officially thrown away the bookings diary - no reservations, no booking links, just walk-ins and a little spontaneity.To celebrate the season, Gigi has introduced a new winter format with every dish on the menu priced at just $12. Expect French-leaning comfort food with a playful edge, from Œufs Mayonnaise, Escargots à la Bourguignonne, Terrine de Campagne, Gougères au Fromage, Gigi’s famous Toasted Chicken Sandwich and ‘La Petite Sœur’ Cheeseburger, alongside Crème Caramel, Mousse au Chocolat and macarons.Selected drinks are joining the party too, with $12 spiced Normandy cider, French house wines and beer, making this one of Melbourne’s chicest winter walk-ins.
