🎤 Today’s Colorado Artist of the Day: @thepamlicosound! 🎤

✨ Dive into the vibe - discover The Pamlico Sound’s unique sound and story!

The Pamlico Sound is a Boulder-based force of high‑energy, original funk and soul, channeling the spirit of Sly & The Family Stone and Parliament Funkadelic into their theatrical, joy‑driven “Jive Church” experience. With ten members, three powerhouse vocalists, and a horn‑loaded rhythm machine, they turn every show into an interactive dance‑floor celebration where the crowd becomes part of the band’s exuberant groove.

There are more words than Instagram allows to say about what George Clinton has meant to me over the decades, so … I’ll just try to speak the essence of it. When I vision-boarded @thepamlicosound I had two main inspirations: @the_official_sly_and_family_st and @werpfunk . Of course, the times (and Denver/Boulder) being what they are, my band ended up being a lot more white than those bands——and than I would’ve liked, tho I have managed to get more people of color into the band over the years——but otherwise, I think I’ve done pretty well in following the vision: primarily rooted in Funk and Soul, but not exclusively (hello Rock, Pop, Psychedelic, Afrobeat, Hip Hop, Reggae, Latin etc); multiple lead vocalists; a healthy mix of gender identities——and a fierce dedication to musical exploration and lyrics that speak to the hearts, souls and minds of the world we live in. Quick stories! ➡️ 1) Waiting tables in a fish joint on Hollywood Blvd when I was stupid young, the good Doctor himself sits himself down. I am, of course, star struck. Well, he is very casual and friendly and funny, so I relax pretty quick. He clearly loves talking with people, and since I do too I’m even happier than I already am just to meet him. 2) Last year, I find myself experiencing the great good fortune to put a show together with The Pamlico Sound and @ligedelic , P-Funk bassist Lige Curry’s side project with keyboardist @dannybedrosian (also of P-Funk!). Beyond the thrill of getting to share a show w/ these two phenomenal artists, I’m also struck by how casually friendly, funny, and fond of conversation they are: must run in the P-F family! Okay, that’s enough for now. On your 85th birthday, Thank You forever and from the bottom of my heart, George Clinton: you make the world a better place. LOVE YOU DOCTOR FUNKENSTEIN! by @willbaumgartner

Quick, before we put out another of our highly professional, thousands-of-likes from our millions of followers recap of last Friday’s blockbuster event at Cervantes—let’s talk about THIS Friday at @goosetownstation in Golden. Every summer for the past we-forget-how-many-years-it’s-all-a-blur-by-now-and-what-is-time-anyway, we revisit our dearly beloved friends at the Station and throw a big ol’ stompin' strollin' slinkin' & sashayin' dance maniacs’ type o' getdown. Get on over and get on up. Ya freaks. taken in Goosetown Station by @willbaumgartner

We are SO EXCITED to bring you NEW MUSIC and SPECIAL GUESTS at @cervantesmasterpiece all while SHARING THE SHOW with two OUTSTANDING BANDS @midnight.soulbirds & @sanleandromusic we personally CHOSE to join US—and YOU. The only (well, the MOST IMPORTANT, anyway) other thing we want to tell you?? It’s THIS! Paying full price online or at the door actually doesn’t help us NEARLY as much as sending us a message, paying WAY less, and getting on our Will Call list to pick up your tix at the box office the evening of the show. Why this is true is too long and complicated a story to go into here—just know that IF YOU LOVE US like WE LOVE YOU, the very BEST way to show it is to send us (or bandleader/LoveWrangler @willbaumgartner ) a message RIGHT AWAY! In fact, the above mentioned Reverend Will B Wrightback loves (and trusts!) You so much that he’s about to drop his number here so you can even text him to make it easier (and more personal!): (720) 436-0922 . Now THAT is LOVE 💘! 💜🫂💥💜 by @willbaumgartner
