Loved checking out the official ribbon cutting and cocktail reception for the new #LateShowwithStephenColbert set exhibit at the wonderful @museumofbroadcastcommunication @museumtv in Chicago! Very cool to be able to sit behind the desk of not only #StephenColbert but also #JohnnyCarson’s original desk and SO MUCH MORE. I didn’t take any photos but the Chicago radio station WLUP “The Loop” feature was fantastic as well. Congrats to @jktv and @daveplier and all from the museum on this brilliant new exhibition. Thanks to my friend @betsshep for the invite! On Tuesday afternoon, I was finally able to experience the incredible @barackobama @obamafoundation @obamalibrary and it definitely did not disappoint! From the minute you exit the parking into playgrounds and beautiful gardens to the interactive and informative exhibits to the epic skyline views of the city, everything is well thought out and inspiring. Definitely worth your time to visit! It’s awesome to see folks of all ages and ethnicities exploring the museum. I still want to try and find a way to get my photo of #BarackObama from election night 2008 or my campaign poster I created that same year, into the permanent collection! Goals…

Finally recovered and catching up after a fantastic four day journey to #Louisville #Kentucky for the @andbeyondfestival and a day on the #BourbonTrail with my Dad, @hunterbyington and a whole crew of great friends! To those I was able to see and catch up with! Awesome seeing you. Sorry to all those we never crossed paths or connected! Here’s a few snapshots and sounds from the weekend that was… swipe right!

@FooFighters closed out night one with a brilliant blistering set as always.

Always great seeing the pride and joy of Rockford, Illinois, @CheapTrick playing the hits!

Thursday also included the incredible @sierradawnhull and a new favorite to me, #Couch.

Along with the festival debut of @stanleysimmonsmusic and the on fire guitar of @garyclarkjr

And the award for the most energetic set goes to @lindseystirling

Dad and I started out Friday morning with a tour of the @sluggernation #LouisvilleSlugger museum

But made sure to get to the festival in time for church, I mean revival, I mean… another glorious set from my friends @stpaulandthebrokenbones!

Followed by an afternoon of great sets from a variety of bands including @realmarcusking, @angusandjuliastone, and a cooking demo with @andybeshearky all leading up to the @officialviolentfemmes and…

The one and only @FlamingLips bringing out all the toys and props!

The night superbly wrapped up with the wonderful @spaceykacey and @mumfordandsons under a beautiful full moon!

Over the 4 days at #BourbonAndBeyond here’s just a few of the friends I was lucky to cross paths with. There are many more I regretfully did not get a photo with or missed seeing altogether!

Day 3 - Saturday, we missed out on some amazing tunes as we opted for a short roadtrip up to Frankfort, Kentucky to visit the #BourbonTrail and hit up a few distilleries!

Stop #1 on Saturday was @buffalotrace at the @buffalotracedistillery.

Next, we rode over to one of my new favorite stops, the historic @castleandkey. Between the incredible restored castle that houses the distillery and our legendary tour guide that was a cross between comedian Lewis Black and Chris Farley’s Matt Foley living down by the river… the stop was through by @willbyington

The @evanstonfolkfest is a dream combination of New Orleans Jazz fest and what I imagine Newport Folk Fest to be, only it’s right here on the shores of Lake Michigan expertly created and curated by @samuelsjake and his amazing team from @evanstonspace etc. The atmosphere, lineup, stages, food and more make for a fantastic experience from start to finish! Swipe through to see a few of my favorite moments from Sunday!

Loved catching up for a few moments with @dannyfromthehammy, @kittythefool, @joshritter, @esmatteo and @briandunnemusic! Can’t wait to see Kathleen and Josh perform again in a few weeks at the Chicago Theatre tribute to John Prine!

I’ve been a big fan of the @indigogirlsmusic since high school and they never disappoint live in concert.

Kathleen Edwards (@kittythefool) has also been a favorite artist of mine since I first saw her at Schubas probably 20 years ago. The world needs authentic singer/songwriters like her now more than ever and I love seeing the duo with @esmatteo and can’t wait to see what they create next!

@margaret_glaspy was stellar on the lawn of the @evanstonhistorycenter’s #DawesHouse where you could hear a pin drop during her great set!

#JoshRitter left it all onstage as well during his fun set of songs and stories on the shore of Lake Michigan. Only complaint is the set was too short!

@jamesmcmurtryofficial is a songwriter’s songwriter and one of the best storytellers touring today.

Incredible surprise and joy seeing @briandunnemusic who was in town to sit in with the Indigo Girls. Can’t wait to see him and @fantasticcat on @journeythroughsong next year!
