The Big M 🟡

After months of stress, waiting, paperwork and wondering if it was ever actually going to happen, I drove my Murciélago for the first time and somehow it was at the Top Gear test track which is just wild.

In typical TDC fashion it wasn’t exactly smooth running either. It needed jump starting, then bump starting, and I couldn’t go that quick because the tyres are absolutely knackered. I guess a 24 year old Lamborghini that’s been off the road for 5 years was never going to behave itself on day one.

It’s not perfect and it definitely isn’t sensible, but this is my dream car. The exact spec I used to obsess over as a kid.

What makes it even weirder is that 5 years ago I commented on a YouTube video of this exact car saying it was my absolute dream car and now I actually own it.

I know this is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a car and I almost didn’t post it because I never wanted it to feel like the cliché “YouTuber buys dream supercar” thing, but I really hope this one feels a little different.

I grew up in Slough, went to a normal school, didnt bother with uni, no money and no real plan. Just this weird belief that somehow one day I’d own a car like this.

Even if it all goes wrong tomorrow, nobody can take away the fact I owned my dream car.

Going from unemployed just over two years ago with absolutely no idea what was next, to this moment, is pretty surreal.

A huge thank you to anyone who has watched the videos, listened to the podcast or supported from afar, you’ve played a part in moments like this being possible.

Hopefully I can now use this thing properly, share the experience with all of you and maybe inspire a few people to take a risk, chase that dream or buy that ridiculous car.

You’re only here once 🙏

The E92 project is coming along very nicely. The car sounds incredible now and I’m so pleased to be back in an E92 M3.

The Megane hath returned and is looking and driving better than ever. I’m not sure how long it’ll stick around though, as the M3 and Murci are going to be taking up a lot of time and money over the coming months, so needs must…

I’m so excited to get the Quattroporte sorted too (not my personal car, by the way 😂). I think these are massively underappreciated, and it’ll be great to finally get both Maseratis out on the road together.

The Murcielago hill climb disappointment is still very fresh in the mind. I’ve really missed having this car around, but hopefully it’ll be back up and running again very soon. We’ve got a big video in the works with the guys at @sbr_eng, and I’m very excited to have it back working better than ever. Also found some amazing forgotten rollers @edwin.klinkenberg took while it was still working.

Also, we’re well aware there are a few older projects we need to tie up. There’s a plan in place to get on top of them/wrap them up before the end of the year. A bit of personal stuff behind the scenes has meant we’ve been slightly all over the place with projects lately, but we’ll get things straightened out as soon as we can. by @willchandlr

MCW 2026 was even more memorable than last year. Meeting Valentino Balboni was a top highlight and he confirmed the correct pronunciation of Gallardo 🇮🇹

Ben met some fans. Great to chat Murcielago stuff with these boys.

Met up with Blake again with the Murci. Even though I own one it still excites me so much just seeing and hearing it.

The most expensive 6.2 coupe so far.

Met a dream podcast guest and then actually manage to wangle a sit down with the CEO of Lamborghini which is pretty crazy. We didn't get a lot of time but you'll see it on the podcast channel soon.

Rah its the Paggers Zondini 🗣

The DK lads were kind enough to invite us over to see some insane cars. Owning or driving a Zonda is something I have to do in my lifetime.

June (and some July maybe). A semi successful ring trip for the Megane, a first Lambo press car and many videos filmed. Murcielago is now on daily duties to give it some proper use while the weather is good and I really dont think this car will ever get old to me 💛 by @willchandlr

Couldn't push it too hard because the tyres were shot and it was literally the first time I'd ever heard it run 😅. Cant wait to get this thing back on the road.

A few bits from April for you man.

The Megane is now back but still not quite right. I've now decided to turn it up a bit as a track car and go more extreme. Its now with @cormorantmotorsport for some bits.

I've now sold the Gallardo (turns out Jay Kay bought it 🤯). Had the perfect final trip in it to the @supercardriver season opener where @edwin.klinkenberg surprised me with his crazy new Tuscan.

Sold the Gallardo, Range Rover and The LY Clio - now replaced with a £620 Alfa 159 + a £600 parts car.

We bought the 500,000km Lupo 3L which I think everyone has really warmed to.

Had a great trip with Continental to Germany, even spotted another 3L.

And then finally I visited a little auction where I found 234 reasons to wave my hand in the air. by @willchandlr

Yep, the Gallardo has officially gone but I cannot wait to show what is next. I'm a little disappointed I didn't get the summer out of the Gallardo, but an opportunity came up that I could not resist. by @willchandlr

Very cool to be invited to Mercedes-Benz World by @continental.tyres to test tyres under controlled conditions.

I genuinely learnt a lot from the guys there, and it’s pretty special working at a place I used to visit all the time as a kid.
