Have pretty much crawled to the end of this year, hope you have fared better. Regardless I can say with certainty that life can open your eyes up to the most beautiful of things in the darkest of hours. Wishing all the love and success. Happy New Year 🎈 xx by @willchismdrums

Mim (1945-2045) . With sadness and celebration I have written about my beautiful mother on Facebook as was deemed too long on here if anyone cares to read. Sending love to all during this Christmas period. A life in pictures 1. Mim starts modelling in 1964 at the age of 19
2. The family briefly moved to Mauritius which mini Mim loved. The colours and food and the sea, though she has a very early memory of watching the fishing boats with her mother and seeing them one morning being encircled by sharks. She was well behaved and her hobbies included daydreaming about sitting on a cloud and looking at the earth from high up above, with miniature cars and tiny dots as people. This and eating nail varnish apparently

2. Mini Mim on the left with her cousins, her brother Ray is the baby sitting on their beloved Grandma Wombwell. Her husband came back from the First World War trenches missing a lung from a mustard gas attack, he returned however the same warm, kind, jolly man who had left. The two adored Ray and Mim and provided sanctuary when and if needed with trips to the fair, fishing afternoons and picnics.

3. The cheeky glint! Mim aged around 11

4. The Muses. The most influential women in my life. Mim on the left, my Auntie Lou centre, My Grandma Leslie ( my Father’s Mother ) on the right. Leslie and Mim connected and forged a strong friendship, both models in the 50s and 60s respectively; both would succumb to the same strains of cancer thirty years apart.

5. Mim and yours truly 1987

6. Mum, Dad, a suave looking geezer and the Queen 1989

7. Mim during her time at Orme Court, here in Florence on her 60th Birthday

8. Mim in Kefalonia

9. A visit to London for her 78th Birthday
