I met @wilfredburr in May 2025
He just performed in the Broadway show @glengarryplay
The cast signed autographs outside the Palace Theatre. After every show. On the sidewalk. Of 47th Street.
I just started the @rickcrom @comedycellarclasses.
This was my first Friday night in #newyork
I never would have visited New York, let alone taken Rick's class, if I didn't have the opportunity to meet #billburr
After the shows, Bill Burr sometimes performed stand-up at the @comedyvillagenyc on 44th.
I wanted to watch.
But, Bill was off to Brooklyn...
Standing in the middle of Midtown (47th and Broadway), all I could think was,
"Where Brooklyn at?"

hi. so, it's 1:20am monday morning and i am performing on a 9:30pm show later tonight.

i think a promo for the show, like this one above, is supposed to be posted months in advance. that way people have advanced notice to purchase tickets and arrange schedules and plans.

i guess i forgot. or, i procrastinated.

which is more believable?

either way, it would be my great pleasure to have you out tonight!

plus, i win if i have the loudest laughs, cheers, and boos. i don't think the type of sound matters. just the volume.

My last show in NYC is Thursday night...

The venue is the Laughing Buddha Comedy Club and the show is part of the preliminary round of the 2026 LBC Summerfest Stand Up Comedy Contest!

(There's a $1500 grand prize I might actually need if you've already read ahead).

The show is almost free because...

I am paying for all my friends tickets!!!!

(Fun fact: My "comedy" is the reason my parents are listing my childhood home for sale. We're all, collectively, in crippling debt)

But, the show, it is NOT free!

There is a $15 beverage minimum and I can't think I can afford everybody's beverages... See above.

I would call this show my swan song but... I'm more of a duck. That can't sing. Quack?

Yes, I performed at the @comedycellarusa #fatblackpussycat lounge.

No, I did not get "passed" or "land" the audition.

Ihey don't just let anyone perform.

Especially not me.

Doubly-especially, when my sh***y "amateur" standup act is at this low of a calibre, they have an obligation to restrict me from even entering the premises.

Still. Somehow, I did.

"How?"

"He shouldn't be this confident..."

"How did @willdanielssucks convince this American Comedy Institution to let him perform?"

"What is world coming to?"

Well, American's love cash money...

... And by that I mean, I bribed my way onto the stage!

It's never worked in Canada.

Maybe, the clubs there can't accept USD?

Anyways, the legendary godfather of New York Comedy and former Cellar host (1984-2000s?) @rickcrom reluctantly allowed me in a same room with a real #newyork #nyc #ny #newyorkcity audience.

He refused at first, saying something to the effect of, "I cannot accept this $17.23 "gift" out of principle! Don't you understand? You are that terrible at telling jokes."

He was right. And, still is.

But, Rick worked extremely hard with the help of @veronicamosey to finally get me to stop foaming at the mouth on stage.

With that...

I am thankful to the entire crew @comedycellarclasses @bigbencomedy @iamjaykuang @veronicamosey @rickcrom

I am thankful you to all my former classmates who brought people, risking close friendships, to the shows.

I am thankful to the New York and Toronto stand-up comedy / open mic scenes. All of your frigthtened, bag-clutching, disturbed body language / facial expressions and direct feedback made me realize I can do this!

"Please, exit the premises before we call security"

If you are looking for something better, I mean "why am I asking?" Of course, you are.

Check out my friend Paris who's act I stole for this set. I believe I modified his enough for it to be considered fair use. I did this by distilling down his special attention to detail, deliberate and intelligent preparation / delivery, and unique style to something of my own. By that I mean, I replaced his comedic gifts with a flatulence joke. by @willdanielssucks

DISCLAIMER: the cellar and its affiliate venues are in no way associated with this unhinged, deranged sh***y "amateur" stand-up. It is not clear who, when, where or why he was allowed to perform. The only explanation is he doctored this video digitally or he bribed a member of our staff to sneak on stage, he then secretly filmed his set and afterwards, he added the crowd noise in post.

This reel shows a performance art piece from the 2026 @toronto_fringe festival (non-invitation, un-nominated, never welcome).

À la mode de guérilla, I lost the @royale_w_cheesy_lines one-liner battle competition dressed in blue tights as a blue, unfit substitute for Dr. Bruce Banner's alter ego.

I am unqualified to be a one-liner stand-up comedian (or any other type of artist). So, an incredible amount of credit and thanks must go to show organizer @rishfilet @rishikcomedy and the venue @osprey.to cafe for allowing me to disgrace their stage. Judges @pompcomedy and @lironjacobs only penalized me with a yellow card to prevent the embarrassment of a red. This performance would not have been possible without these wonderful individuals and the wonderful audience.

Lastly, thank you @thefakerobito for being an accepting and gracious sport. He is an excellent Toronto standup with an excellent delivery and even cleverer material. He is a true professional and you should book him for your next show. by @willdanielssucks
