I grew up in Minnesota. What’s happening there right now—murders, immigration terror, and the erosion of basic human rights—has filled me with rage and grief. 💔❤️‍🩹

Our country is becoming unrecognizable. And if you think this won’t affect you, you’re wrong. This is only the beginning.

Silence is not neutral. Silence is a choice. 🤫

My work has always reflected my values. If you’re here only for pretty pictures and not prepared to sit with that truth, you’re free to unfollow.

If this makes you uncomfortable, sit with that. Discomfort is often where truth lives.

Award-Winning Design, 🏆 Rooted in Warmth & Legacy

The kitchen that just took home a National Design Award is a celebration of many things: historical reverence, intentional function, and the quiet strength of dark wood tones that ground a space with timeless warmth.

In this Prairie-style Evanston home, dark wood never left—it just needed a fresh lens. We layered custom rift-cut oak cabinetry, matte black accents, and aged brass details to honor the home’s architectural roots while meeting the modern-day needs of family who love to cook together.

Every line, finish, and fixture was selected to enhance the flow of natural light and celebrate the integrity of the original home—because good design isn’t always about reinvention. Sometimes, it’s about listening closely to what the house is already trying to say.

Swipe through to see the details up close—and yes, dark wood is absolutely having a moment (though in my opinion, it never truly went out of style).

Here’s the thing about both of these kitchens: the best move wasn’t a finish. It was opening up the wall to the outdoors.

Summit Ridge Residence and Pinewood Sanctuary are both shortlisted for the 2026 @nanawallsystems Awards, and the winners come down to public vote! 🗳️

If you’ve got a minute, we’d really appreciate yours. Link in bio.
So, Pinewood or Summit Ridge? Tell me your pick 👇

As soon as I saw this home, I knew it had so much potential.

We took what was already there and gave it a completely new life. The spaces feel brighter, warmer, and much more intentional, while still feeling like a home meant to be lived in.

There’s nothing quite like looking back at the before photos after seeing it all come together.

Nobody said it was easy. And it’s certainly not.

Part of my journey to Italy was bringing my Luka along with me, to give him a send off and a partial resting place in one of my favorite cities, his namesake, Lucca.

I walked the wall of the city of Lucca until I found the spot of a photo I took last time I was here, just around the same time Luka came into my life. He didn’t originate here - but I feel like this is a place he would’ve truly loved.

On the wall, near three large trees and a beautiful view of the Lucca Cathedral, I spread some of Luka’s ashes in his honor.

I will never forget this day. And I will never stop missing my Little Man Luka. ❤️‍🩹

Wow. 🤩 October is off to an incredible start!

Honored to be named one of @kitchenandbathdesignnews 2026 Innovators. ✨ Link in bio.

This year’s class of 36 recognizes people working beyond the drawing board: in education, industry associations, and community. That’s the part that means the most to us.

As Programs Chair for @nkbanortherncalifornia , I get to help shape the programming our design & trade community gathers around, with inclusivity at the center. Thank you to @kitchenandbathdesignnews for the recognition, and to our clients, trades, and collaborators who make the work possible.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for a kitchen is get out of its way — and open it up. 🌿
