Being a Kevin is the best part about living in Portland ❤️

You should know how this man made a massive impact in his town every valentine’s day all while remaining anonymous.

He was the Valentine’s day bandit.

For decades, Kevin Fahrman secretly placed red hearts all around the city of Portland, ME every year on Valentines day, bringing fun and joy to those who live here. It was last year he unexpectedly passed away, leaving his family to reveal his secret and keep his legacy alive.

His daughter Sierra asks if you do decide to partake and “Be a Kevin,” do so with the same selflessness and intent her father had.

Kevin’s work around the city of Portland has personally brought me and so many of my neighbors joy. Kevin was also a fellow photographer, musician and artist, along with many other things.

So if you want to put up Kevin’s artwork in your city next Valentine’s day, comment the heart emoji “ ❤️ “ and I’ll send you the link to his foundation’s site!

What if I told you I shot my first wedding in seventh grade?

And if you don’t believe me, this is my mom’s Facebook post of her crashing it.

I only had one battery, a shotgun mic, and a tripod that I left behind the ceremony.

But hey, this is what seven years of trial and error looks like.

Now of course, the moral here is to never compare yourself to others.

That’s easier said than done, comparison is the thief of joy.

And you should always celebrate how much you’ve grown. Even if it requires cringing at yourself.
