Life is so fragile and fleeting. But its fragility is what makes it immensely precious and equally as daunting.

When I don’t know where to turn, I look where you look cause I know he guides you.

Hesitant, I stretch my hands to thee knowing that all hands are better in your hands.

But it’s hard knowing that some are robbed of being able to look forward, because those who should exist in their future are no longer.

Inhale.

Exhale.

There’s no comfort in holding it in, so we let it out, and we let it out loud so that you can feel us.

And we leave voicemails so you can hear us.

Robbed of your physical presence, some of us look forward, and some of us look back. Where we look, there’s solace in knowing that although the physical returns - the connection still stays strong.

So back we look.

And forward we pray.

Read a few books this summer between the months of June and August. Here are my favorite parts from each one. Also buy Books from Black owned book stores because Barnes and Nobel don’t need your money. Shoutout @loreleimertpark @reparations.club and @octavias_bookshelf 🙏🏾

Ibid. But the Trials and Tribulations of National Consciousness is some of the best writing ever written.

Seek outside the diaspora, reflect within.

The end was the best part of this book because it wasn’t good with all due respect. 1/5 ⭐️ because even nothing is worth something. #notallhardworkisgoodworknotallgoodworkishard by @william.bigby

A simple life was one I used to live. My worries seldom extended beyond being hangry and tired. Appreciating the feeling of solace that simplicity brings requires perspective, but perspective is gained through experience. My life has been short - relatively - but my perspective is ever growing. Your joy is beautiful, it offers new perspective. A calming sensation amidst the this turbulent reality we live in. I know my landing will be smooth - that’s the power of hope. The laughs, the cries, the screams - music to my ears, sounds I take with me through the night. Thank you for this new light.
