While travelling towards the Notsuke Peninsula, we came across a skulk of foxes. One of them willingly approached our car perhaps hoping for food. This fox was so close I could almost pet it.

This was my first time seeing a fox in the wild and was very grateful that I had the opportunity to see it in such close proximity. It’s interesting to think these animals are still so active at way below freezing temperatures.

On the way from Kamikawa in the middle of Hokkaido to Abashiri on the east side, we were able to make a pit stop at the Kitsune Farm in Rubeshibecho. Loved how when the fox was curled up it made a little heart shape when framed with the snow.

This train station is only notable as it is the closest train station to the Sea of Okhotsk. While it is very aesthetically pleasing, it was surprisingly busy with tourists. It felt like it shouldn’t have been that busy since it didn’t exactly feel touristy.

An attempt was made to fly the drone here but the wind was much too strong for it.

Alongside seeing foxes, bears and deers, one of the slightly rarer animals we saw were cranes. We mostly saw them in crane reserves such as the one we saw here at the Kushiro Japanese Crane Reserve on our way down from Shibecha.

The reserve had huge fenced off areas where the cranes would rest in, which meant taking photos through the fencing which was challenging sometimes. Luckily the reserve had built these tiny portholes with slide up lids to allow photographers to poke their lenses through.

I would love to see some more wild cranes in the future from a closer distance.

Most of the time, canines look skinnier when they stretch, but the only description I could think of when seeing this fox was: what a chonker! This fox was in all likelihood not very large, but the puff of their thick fur most definitely gave that impression.

Slowly editing the photos that were taken at the Kitakitsune Farm in Rubeshibecho. The way the fox’s fur contrasts to the snow is very pretty and made so many opportunities for good photos.

While travelling along the west coast of Hokkaido on the down towards Hakodate from Otaru, we stopped by Suttsu to take in the sights and grab a bite to eat. This small coastal town had very nice views, windmills lined one side of the coast, white torii gate shrines and just great mountain views all around.

I used to never take photos from my drone, but the more I watched back my drone videos, the more I wish I took more photos with it. Hopefully this is just one of many more to come.

While visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace and trying to shoot Geunjeongjeon from different angles, I came across a lady in her hanbok sitting on her own. Most of the people who come are coming with friends so it’s rare to see someone alone.

Batu Caves is one of the big tourist attractions near Kuala Lumpur. The entrance to the caves is a flight of rainbow stairs with 272 steps. The mountain is also home to monkeys, and as the stairs have a constant flow of tourists, the monkeys are drawn to the stairs.

On the way up, I spot a number of moments where monkeys climb onto tourists to steal food. This particular monkey was able to slip a water bottle out of the side pocket of the backpack of an unsuspecting tourist. I watched as the tourist try to steal it back but these monkeys are very quick on their feet.
