The Ballerina

The reflection judges.
The wood feels cold.
A trembling limb,
A story untold.
She turns in the dark,
Haunted by shadows
Of falling. Failing.

What if the talent
Is a lie she believes?
If the music stops short
And the crowd stares
The silence is heavy.
The ceiling is vast.
The understudy waiting
She dances everyday
to outrun the ghosts of failure.

Carnival Dreams

The sky turned soft
with evening,
rides humming
against the dark.

Memories of laughter
friends, families,
dates, and people
I met, brought together
by the midway lights

And somewhere between the lights
and the fading noise,
it felt like this summer
like the carnival dreams
would not be forgotten.

My original poem and photograph. Animated by me. #original #poetry #photography #carnival #summer by @william_falo

The Cat at the Gate

In the cemetery,
the cat waits
tail curled
like a question

Ghosts drifting
between stones,
slow as regret.

They never touch you.
But the cat does
rubbing against you
a small promise
in all that cold.

The ghosts watch.
The cat stays.
A spooky friend

Élodie

Paris

She lived on a quiet street,
loved rainy afternoons,
old bookstores,
and coffee by the window.

She dreamed of traveling,
falling in love,
and finding her place
in a changing world.

Just an ordinary girl,
living an ordinary life.

But every life
has a story worth remembering.

Shannon.
A Galway girl
Singing
In O'Connors pub
her voice bends low
the way mist bends
over morning fields
of wild mountain thyme
and purple heather

Her eyes have held
something back
for years.
she sings
of those lost
that she loved
The tears fall like rain
over Ireland.

The Well of Lost Wishes
Forgotten
The branches cover it
Nobody goes there anymore
The coins still
at the bottom
Wishes unfulfilled

My coin is there too
The wish not granted

My words.

The Rain that Never Ends.

A gray sky.
A silent street.
And all the things
I never said.

Sometimes the rain stops.

Sometimes it never ends.

Happy Hippo Toys. It's been located in Moorestown, NJ for over 50 years. When I saw it today, I took this photograph and wrote this poem. It's such a unique, magical place. My original poem and photograph. #toystore #nostalgia #memories #poetry #photograph. @happyhippotoys by @william_falo
