This is the relief I felt after completing the edits of ‘Come To Me’, my new novel, and sending it back to my publisher. #offmydesk #cometome #deixispressbooks #fiction #instagramreaders by @williamparkerauthor
Would you believe it! Some time ago, I sent my publisher, Angel Belsey @deixispress the manuscript of my middle book, which has been languishing in a draw for five years. She loves ‘Come to me’ and plans to publish it next May. I am, quite honestly, over the moon! #newnovel #deixespress #instagramreaders by @williamparkerauthor
Thrilled to have been part of my lovely friend Ruthie Henshall’s book launch last night. The Showgirl and the Prince is beautifully written and one hell of a story! Bravo Ruthie. The reviews are glowing. by @williamparkerauthor
Reflecting on my book The Last Doorbell in the coolest corner of my garden. #thelastdoorbell #readingmatters #greatstory #deixispress #heatwave by @williamparkerauthor
I am not the most comfortable in front of a camera even though I used to act for a living, but I’m told I need to push through the nerves, so here we go - a small extract from the start of my book, The Last Doorbell. Hope it peeks your interest. Note to self - smile more Billy! #thelastdoorbell #readingmatters #novel #bookreading by @williamparkerauthor
Lovely Amazon review. Thank you whoever you are. by @williamparkerauthor
Wow! Came across this purely by chance. Bob the Bookerer posts on YouTube all the time and I love his reviews. So grateful to him for this lovely mention. Do check out his page @bobthebookerer by @williamparkerauthor
Only took me forever in getting around to reading this book, but really looking forward to reading it. #johnranson by @williamparkerauthor
It seems ridiculously extravagant to have two cover versions of my book (albeit one in hardback, the other paperback), but you’ll hear no complaints from me as I’m thrilled with both. What does everyone else think. Do you have a favourite? by @williamparkerauthor
#ADPR 📚Book Review📚The Last Doorbell by William Parker Thank you to @novel.tours @deixispress and @williamparkerauthor for a #gifted copy of this book to read and review. It has recently been longlisted for the Polari Prize. REVIEW Aspiring actor Ben Teasdale starts to work for an escort agency to pay his bills. The work pays well and he decides to stop but the agency asks him to do one more job - to help a man with failing eyesight with his correspondence. This begins a long term companionship, friendship, almost family relationship between Ben and Alexander Bellaghy and his wife Bridget. Spanning nearly two decades there is travel to Paris and Marrakesh, teachings about wine but above all discretion, trust and ultimately genuine care and affection. The book is full of warmth and heart and I thought it tackled grief particularly sensitively. I thoroughly enjoyed it. #gifted #ADPR #noveltours by @williamparkerauthor
Synopsis An encounter with an aristocratic couple changes everything... An intimate portrayal of an unlikely relationship that cuts across age and class Ben's past was supposed to be behind him: debts paid, savings secured, and a collection of outrageous anecdotes that would amuse his friends for a lifetime. But under pressure from his escort agency for "one final favor," he now stands at a precipice, finger poised over a doorbell. There’s a moment’s pause before his finger makes reluctant contact. He can’t possibly know it, of course, but this doorbell, the last, changes his life forever... Author Bio William Parker set out to be an actor but decided in his mid-30s that the stage was too frightening and precarious a profession for someone of a generally nervous disposition – just because one might be good at something doesn’t necessarily mean one has to do it! He’s still addicted to make-believe, though, so settling down with fingers poised above a keyboard to bring characters to life has turned out to be just the thing, even if he’s left it rather late. His first book, The House Martin, was published in 2010. His second book, The Last Doorbell, continues the story of a shy young man who might or might not bear some resemblance to his literary creator. 🚪The Last Doorbell Book Tour & Review🚪 Wanted to thank @novel.tours and to @williamparkerauthor for the opportunity to read, be a part of this tour as well as give this book my honest review. This review will also be spoiler free for anyone who chooses to read this book for themselves. I gave this book a 4⭐️ rating and here is why: This book was very clearly character driven! If you like reading books that revolve around the characters only with not much of a cohesive plot, than this book will be for you. I personally felt that we got to learn a lot about the characters in this story even though you couldn’t find a solid straight line of plot to follow. The characters truly made up for the confusing moments in time with this book, even during the different times of past moments in life. Everything was written in a pretty plain and straightforward way so I didn’t really get too much of an emotional response from it even though I did enjoy the characters. What I did really like about this book is the friendship that was formed between two unlikely people at the time. Even as the story progressed, you could clearly see just how important they were to each other and how their lives sort of evolved around staying friends. The topic of mourning and grief was also present in this book and I feel as that is where I actually got the more emotional response out of it for me as a reader. I have never read anything like this before and I am glad that I did. The writing style is something I just really had to get used to and the way the story was formed strictly through the characters and not really a solid plot, but other than that I am glad that I gave this a chance! #thelastdoorbell #noveltours #booktour #bookreviews #bookrecs #deixispress by @williamparkerauthor
