Yeah, sure, okay... You?

Had a fantastic weekend celebrating 35 years on this planet. Olya (@olya_filmmaker) snapped off this photo as I weaved our little skiffy through the ice. If this photo had audio, you'd hear me giggling like I was 30 years younger!

It's been a hell of a ride so far, but there is still a lot more to explore. Looking forward to what the next 35 years bring! Cheers to all😎😎

A snap during a meeting of the tribes.

Vanuatu is home to extremely rich cultures, ancient traditions, and ways of life that remain largely unchanged, even today.

In 2019, we were asked to come back to Vanuatu to document a festival that would represent and join together tribes from the 80 islands that make up this tiny nation. It was an incredible experience to see how diverse the cultures were, sometimes even between tribes from a single island.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But how do you capture our entire story in just one frame?

We’re sailors, filmmakers, adventurers and, above all, a team. From the outside, our lives might look like one big adventure, but behind the scenes, we’re constantly juggling a hundred things. And sometimes, the price of living this dream is finding ourselves in full survival mode!

But if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that the secret to making it all work is being a strong team, staying positive, finding humor in the chaos and enjoying the ride, no matter what life throws at us.

And somehow, the incredibly talented portrait photographer Igor Novikov managed to capture all of that in a single photograph!

Igor came up with this brilliant creative concept to tell our story, and we had so much fun bringing it to life here in Barcelona.

Thank you, Igor, for your creativity, dedication and all the hard work that went into this shoot. We absolutely love the result!

And here’s to staying afloat, whatever comes our way!

Spain doesn't do moderation.

Buñol, thirty thousand people, and a hundred tons of tomatoes that were never going to make it into anybody's sauce. There is something gloriously idiotic and deeply human about a town that boards up its windows, hoses down its streets, and lets the world spend an hour throwing fruit at itself. You do not come out of this clean, and that is the entire point. An hour later the streets are rinsed, the bars are full, and everyone is drinking beer while wearing another man's lunch. Spain does not do moderation, and thank God for that!

Our new film is finally online🎉🎥🙌

For more than 15 years, we dreamed of meeting the Sea Nomads. So we traveled to the remote islands of Tawi-Tawi in the southern Philippines to find them.

What we found was one of the most fascinating cultures we've ever encountered.

And no matter what happened to me after this trip, Tawi-Tawi remains one of the coolest places we've ever been.

The shots that don't make the final cut still taught me something.

Usually they're the ones where I stopped trying to control the story and just followed it. Alaska does that to you. You show up with a plan and the coastline loudly hands you a better one.

This crew, the Alaska Surf Guides, never once performed for the camera. That's the whole secret, if there is one.

Filmmakers: do you storyboard, or do you find it in the field? Genuinely curious where you land.

Honestly, our favorite shots are rarely the most cinematic ones.

They’re the ones with a real story behind them. The ones we had to sweat for. The ones we visualized months before they actually appeared on the screen, or the ones that came from a sudden, special connection with the person we were filming.

To a viewer, it’s just a beautiful 5-second clip. To us, it’s a whole core memory.

So, we decided to lift the curtain and share some of these bigger-picture moments with you.

For a moment, it is all there.

The light.
The face.

The silence before it disappears.

That is the strange privilege of this job. Not to own the moment, not to explain it, just to stand there long enough to notice it.
