My self-portrait game is getting stronger as is my obsession with the American West.

Colorado and New Mexico, you’ve been so good to me. Made new friends in Taos, had a packed house in Del Norte, slept in my truck at one of the more epic campsites I’ve had, caught a couple brown trout on the Rio Grande, and about dislocated my jaw driving into Ouray.

Lotta pics to catch up on but if I have to spend one more second in this hotel room posting on social media while I should be out there hiking and catching fish, well, I’m gonna lose it.

A couple weeks ago I got to play The Bluebird Cafe for the first time. I’ve been dreaming about performing there since I moved to town about five years ago.

During these five years my life has been an adventure and a grind. Between the miles and stages I’ve filled the gaps with service industry work. I’ve made breakfast sandwiches, I’ve bar backed, I’ve bussed, and I’ve waited tables. I still do and it’s a world I’m thankful for.

This song is called “Promise On The Wind” and it was born out of my unabashed love for Bob Seger and my complicated courtship with the service industry. I think the two go hand in hand.

The longer I live with something I’ve written the more it means to me. Originally about all the things I missed in my last relationship, “1000 FPS” is now a reminder of all I have around me, all the love, all the people, all the moments, all the places I have to be thankful for. A song I wrote about regret and emptiness now makes me feel full and hopeful.

I think Art should grow and morph depending on the needs of the consumer and the creator, and this song has definitely done that for me.

It’s shaping up to be a hell of a fall in the Midatlantic on the “Home for Hurricane Season Tour”! From Virginia to North Carolina to Pennsylvania I’ll be performing in small, intimate listening rooms made for storytelling and getting to know you guys while you get to know me.

Lynchburg, you know I love you. I’ve been playing in and around the Burg since I was a college kid at UVA speeding up and down Rt 29. I’ve played on a truck bed in Amherst, I’ve played the Old 97 in Madison Heights, I’ve played a now defunct gambling den (shocker), I’ve played a music festival that was canceled halfway through due to storms so I ended up being the final artist and basically headlining it, I’ve played a boarding school reunion, and I’ve played a record store. You name it, I’ve played it, and ya’ll keep coming to support me. I’ll see you there!

I have loved Damascus since I first walked through while thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2012. Since then I’ve been enamored and drawn back time and time again. Those feelings were cemented in 2024 when I went down there to do some Hurricane Helene relief work and saw how genuine and close that community is. Whether I’m fishing with @hunter_faust98 over at @stoneflyco or drinking a coffee and talking music with @eslittle at my favorite store @greencovecollective , Damascus keeps calling me back and I can’t wait to perform at Cardinal Music Hall in just a couple weeks!

“Home for Hunting Season” BABY! Each year I head to Rockbridge County for the week of Thanksgiving to be with family, soak up the mountains, and sit in a tree stand for an ungodly amount of hours hoping to fill my freezer. This year is no different but this time around I’m performing at one of the coolest spots in the area: @thelittlecheerful at Sunnyside. If you’ve never been to this part of the Commonwealth, I hesitate to spread the word, but it’s one of my favorite places on the planet.

P.S. Please bring non-perishable food items to the Sunnyside show as I will be donating to the local area food banks!

Pretty surreal couple of days, and by days I mean hours. Flew out to Colorado Springs for a quick 18 hour trip to play for my friends Mike and Julie. It’s shows and moments like this that make me feel like a rockstar and deeply grateful for what I do and the folks that allow me to do it. Being the soundtrack to people’s lives is one of the most rewarding parts of this job and frankly, it’s an honor.

I keep finding myself in Colorado and I’m already looking forward to the next trip with fly rod in hand.

I’m booking private shows and house concerts for 2027 so if you’re interested, holler at me, I love this stuff.

I’m an outdoorsman and an independent touring musician. I work hard and beat the hell out of everything I use from my truck to my guitars to my fly rods. I believe in things that hold up, so when I make belts and when @luckyloon.studio and I collaborate on what items to bring to my store, I make sure they’re going to work on stage and off.

Shenandoah Valley local John Paul Douglas of @jpdandthebittertrades has been part of the VA scene for years. This will be our first time crossing paths with him but are looking forward to having him open the show.

Dec 12 - @theannexnfk
We played a couple shows with @willoverman earlier this year and are looking forward to having another son of the 757 with us to kick things off for our hometown!

Ben met @elikollmanmusic earlier this year as Eli was opening for @thelonebellow. A bunch of crossed paths and mutual connections later, we’re excited to have him in NYC!
