POSTS STORIES REELS

The first time I laid eyes on this old house I knew, I just knew, we were home. Goodness, did she need work, she’d been sitting empty for a few years & was pretty neglected. But after years of moving with the military I knew we could finally settle & she’d be where our family could bloom. She’s come a long way & to think she’s now in @hgtvmagazine well, my cup runneth over! Many talented hands made this front porch what it is today. This is as much their moment as ours.

A big thank you to my uncle & his crew @magnoliarivercompany who worked tirelessly to make the doors actually functional (it’s a long story). They also built the beautiful overhang which we love so much & added so much charm to our home!

@alabamaqualitypainting_llc completely transformed our home by painting it! They also restored the doors & shutters before painting them. They truly are the most lovely team to work with & made my white house with blue shutters dreams reality!

And, I could never forget each of you. Some of you have been here since the beginning & have become dear friends. Thank you for following along on our journey. Your kindness has meant so much!

Well my friends, the heart of our home, the kitchen is at long last completed. I have poured my heart into this space. I’ve collected items for this kitchen years before we even purchased this home. It is a collection of memories, recipes, treasures & little reminders of our family’s story. I truly still have to pinch myself that this space that has lived in my heart & mind for so many years is now a reality. I am so thankful, so many of you followed along on this journey. While renovations are not for the faint of heart in the end, this one was worth every second. I hope you enjoy the reveal & rest assured I’ll be sharing a lot more over the next few weeks. Bon Appetite 🩵Emily

Bonjour! In the 2 years I’ve been Willow & Pearls, I don’t think I’ve ever done a proper introduction post 🙈 so, hi I’m Emily! You’ll often find me like this- on a ladder, step stool or chair taking photos around the house. I am a lover of all things French & am always searching for champagne buckets & anything that reminds be of my beloved France. Willow & Pearls allows me to stay at home with our two children while pursuing my passion for decor & all things chintz! As a former DC apartment dweller & military spouse I’ve lived a good part of my life in houses I couldn’t truly make ours. Now that we have settled (for now) I’ve been slowly turning our 1960s house into our home! I love gallery walls, wallpaper, color & anything that tells the story of our lives. Here you’ll see my latest vintage & antique finds, my adventures in decorating, Liam & Abby Grace our kiddos, Max & Lexi our pups and every once in awhile when he’s actually home Mr. Willow & Pearls. If you’ve been here for awhile merci so much for tagging along! If you’re new welcome! I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday 💚Emily

I couldn’t agree more, it is such a treat to visit a storied home! One that shows the paths those who dwell within its walls have taken. From art, to collections, photos & special pieces of decor let your home be your canvas.

How long have I been putting off this project….literally over a decade! I’m not sure why my ADHD brain decided last night was the night but here we are. I decided I’d take y’all along for the ride. I expect it to be like a rollercoaster full of highs, lows, self doubt & hopefully the thrill of conquering a fear/project. So here we go, so far, the nail head is coming off very easily (knock on wood) I still have a long ways to go! Thanks for following along! 🤍Emily

When I heard this audio, I immediately thought of my Uncle. Those who have been around for a bit, will recognize my uncle who has made so many of my ideas come to life. He is a true craftsman & having him take the time out of his busy schedule to help us with our home has meant so much to me. I once again find myself, even in my 40’s, taking great comfort in the words of Mr. Rogers. I couldn’t agree more, humans are far more wonderful than machines 🩵

I’m not sure there has ever been a more perfect audio for me! Give me all the color & pattern! Goodness knows, I love to mix them!

I found this trio of antique silhouettes a few months ago. I sat them on a shelf in my studio & actually forgot about them! I stumbled across them yesterday & decided it was time to add them to the gallery wall! I like to imagine they are siblings & were loved very much. They are now part of the story of our home! 🩵

Big decision time in the botanical room! I have to decide between a regular finish & a grasscloth finish for the beautiful botanical paper @jennywestenhofer created for our home! I definitely am leaning in one direction but would love to know your thoughts! Tell me below, regular or grasscloth!

Emily of @willowandpearls and I have been busy. My love for painting and Emily's love for home design have perfectly collided in this opportunity to create a custom framed botanical wallpaper for Emily's home. Every detail was carefully decided in order to truly capture Emily's style and to represent parts of Emily's life she holds so dear. More to come on the process, but for now, just know that this going to be a stunner.

In case you are wondering...yes, this wallpaper will be available to purchase. The only question left is....do I make different colorways?!?! Comment below! I take what you think into great consideration🩷. by @willowandpearls

I am a firm believer your home should reflect the lives lived within it. For our family, our time in the Air Force, has been perfectly captured by @tg_colorworks . My husband, flew the mighty C-130J Hercules, lovingly known as the Herk. This time in our life was deeply impactful & profoundly shaped who we are today. Saying goodbye to that chapter & our beloved Herk was very bittersweet. We will carry the memories forever & now have an heirloom piece to pass on to our children. Thank you Tyler for so masterfully capturing this chapter for us.
