Happy Autumn.

Tell me I’m not the only one who can’t walk past a perfect autumn leaf without bringing it home...
It starts with just one golden leaf & suddenly the studio tables (and floor!) are covered in … nature’s confetti. 🤭

Morning walks around the archipelago are turning golden & I love the idea that you can hold these local leaves and petals to celebrate the Fall Equinox—in your own hands.

Hi, I’m Gina. I am so happy to meet you here.

I’m an artist living between city and sea in Sweden with my eclectic, international 🇸🇪 🇫🇷🇺🇸 family and our 2 dogs. I like to think of my botanical art as a small ticket to travel to my corner of the Stockholm archipelago. From my hands to your own!

It’s the most simple to say that “I work as a creative.” In addition to my botanical work with projects from children’s books, exhibits, writing and paintings. I am looking forward to the year ahead to bring you familiar and new work!

Every piece of my botanical art begins with a petal, leaf or branch and retains an ephemeral, 3D quality when it becomes a museum-quality archival print.

Our irises are not yet in bloom, but I had a happy moment recently painting one of @jamiebeck.co irises, with Jamie in a painting session led by artist @jessiekanelosweiner at @thestarlingclub on-line. What a treat & way to make the world a little smaller!

Flowers. Provence. Art. Friends. These give me all of the “feel goods” I carry with me from family in the region; and, memories of beautiful days spent in Provence, now over a year ago, with Hanna at @hannawendelbo ’s retreat at the incredible @villa_puebla , (where I have also had the good fortune to have been an artist in residence, too)

There are so many reasons why lifting a paint brush is always about so much more than color on a page.

There are still stories in the flowers, left over,
from the work I’ve done this week.

A faded, pale, hydrangea petal that will become a face
A poppy seed for a glimmer in an eye
A dried fern frond for fluttering lashes

Some flower I save,
others will be sent back in the wind with a wish…

I like to think of my botanical art as an invitation to travel with me —- from my hands to your own. Pockets full of wildflowers picked by the sea in my Swedish neighborhood, transformed into art for you to hold in your home.

Archival, museum quality prints have a 3D character, holding the light, air and petals of one moment in time for a lifetime, without fading.

106 blooms for my 106 year old grandmother.
She still plays piano, beats everyone at cards, and is whip sharp. She doesn’t need a single thing; except, maybe, more flowers!

Hi. If you are new here. I am so very happy to meet you. I’m Gina. I’m an artist whose morning walks mean I always return with pockets full of natural foraged treasures.

Nature sparks such curiosity & wonder which seems to feel amplified living in Sweden. I love to wildly and playfully use these finds as a creative medium: my botanical art is 100% Mother-nature made with no adhesives.
