POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I remember reading “Greenlights” by @officiallymcconaughey when I was just learning how to become a producer and run @citizens.of.sound.

His courage, mindset, and ambition really inspired me to dream again and believe in myself.

Today, I am grateful to be one of the producers for ReThinking with @adamgrant for @ted capturing amazing stories and diving deep into philosophical constructs.

It was a wonderful full-circle moment to get to meet Matthew, tell him what his book meant to me, engineer this recording, and cut together this great episode.

Shout-out to my wingman @jacob_mccall at @easteditorial for helping me run this project and the crew at Cosmic Standard for partnering with us on production.

VOICES — out now.

Voices is the first chapter from my upcoming record Liminal Space — the project is a cathartic meditation on life’s impermanence — tracing the emotional arc of loss, growth, and the voices we carry as we move through change.

Thank you for listening.

AND…THAT’S A WRAP!! 🎬

We just finished shooting our first film “Penny: A Portrait in Motion,” and it was one of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had in my life.

I don’t have words to express the feeling or the experience of shooting this with the absolute dream team in the absolute dream locations.

I’ve learned that I LOVE directing. I’ve also learned that your DP (@shadowcultur) is also directing and it’s the most important duo relationship to have on set. I wouldn’t have chosen anyone else other than the brilliant Logan Miller.

Truly none of this would have been possible without our incredible producers: @joy.bruhn, @shadowcultur, @truesonart, & @britt_pauline_church bringing their expertise, art, perspective, and hard work.

Thank you to the rest of the crew: @notianupton, @e.b.cooper, @clockworkonions, and @roycesharp for showing up and making it happen. It would not have been possible without every single one of you.

Big shoutouts to additional crew, actors, locations, and support from: @leslilew326, @realchrisdavis, @rodyancy, @logan_bruhn, @theoathstudio, @templeofdancetulsa, @aimeerosehunter, @prismcafetulsa, @davidreedjames, @loumaff, @evanbhughes, @caracoxcreative, @borntobeivan, @alunadances, @tulsafmac, all of our dancers, and all of our party people.

I cannot wait to show you what we do with what we shot. It’s already blowing my mind before we even have a rough a cut.

Now we move to the editing room…brb. 🎞️ taken in Tulsa, Oklahoma by @willretherford

Thrilled to have made my first big step as a filmmaker with some of the most talented and amazing people I know.

If not now, then when?

Thank you to all of our crew, friends, and family who came to our private viewing, and thank you to everyone who waits patiently for its release while we navigate the second big step. 🎥 taken in Circle Cinema by @willretherford

And that’s a wrap on our second film!

This time I got to play a different role…🙂🪄

I always wanted to be an actor when I was a kid, and I always thought I missed that window. I’m very grateful to learn I haven’t missed it and it felt second nature to me. Thank you to my scene partner @lyssiebrown for making me feel comfortable in those shoes.

The Magic City, written and directed by @realchrisdavis, is a hilarious and emotional dramedy that takes “coming-of-age” to a different place. 🏗️🏢🏛️🏬🌅

Chris Davis is a wonderful director and he taught me so much about directing, efficiency, and leading a project. Shooting and driving is very hard. 😅🚙

We truly could not have pulled off this very hard shoot without our magical dream team: @tidalhousemedia, @go_4_danny, @codyjensen, @kelsikaystylist, @jessicateruki, @maryallismith, @bryceriedesel, @notianupton, @jevons.paradox, @e.b.cooper, @truesonart, @maryallismith, @onlyaustinjames, @keon_awopeju_sound, and all of our BGs, PAs and party goers. 📦 taken in Tulsa, Oklahoma by @willretherford

In Episode 16 of The Channel, @willretherford talks about how working from home and becoming a parent changed the way he makes space for creativity- and why sometimes you have to schedule the time, leave the house, and make art intentionally.
