For the last 8 months or so I’ve mostly been working in my studio on this, my largest ever picture and my first oil painting (aside from a few practice runs). A commission for @magichouse.tokyo The idea was conceived by myself and @drxromanelli of a dense, psychotropic jungle scene, alive with mysterious creatures and strange foliage. Many thanks to Darren and the team at Magic House for all their help and support, and also to @joniotakahashi for technical help and encouragement with the painting. Tomorrow we will unveil the painting at Magic House and the band I play in alongside @nobuhikokitamura and Shinji Masako and Maki (@dmbqnoinsta , Boredoms) will play a special live improvised set. All are welcome, there will be hot dogs and beer. LONDON × TOKYO ロンドンのコミュニティと 日本のカルチャーが交差する夜。 Cobyの歌声も聴けるかも🎤😎 是非遊びに来てください！ DJ: Coby Sey Will Sweeney Jyn (D.A.N) Kenichi Iwasa Coby Sey Coby Sey（コビー・セイ）は、ソングライター、プロデューサー、ヴォーカリスト、マルチ・インストゥルメンタリスト、DJとして活動するアーティスト。サウス・ロンドンのDIYシーンを長年にわたって行き来しながら活動を続け、独自の存在感を持つアーティスト／パフォーマーとしてその地位を確立してきた。 彼の音楽は、生楽器による演奏、エレクトロニック・プロダクション、実験音楽を横断し、ヒップホップ、ノイズ、ジャズ、グライムといった要素を、ダブのような浮遊感と陶酔感の中に溶け合わせている。 Cobyは、音楽を分かち合い、共に創り上げていくオープンな姿勢を大切にしている。長年にわたりMica LeviやTirzahとコラボレーションを続けているほか、Dean Blunt、TYSON、Laurel Halo、Raisa K、Speakers Corner Quartetらとも共演・制作を行ってきた。また、Mica Levi、Brother Mayとともにロンドンのクリエイティブ・コレクティブCURLを立ち上げたメンバーの一人であり、NTSでは長年にわたって毎月のレギュラー番組を担当している。 2022年には、待望のデビュー・アルバム『Conduit』をAD 93からリリース。幅広い批評家から高い評価を受けた。 2024年には、実験的ヴォーカリストのソプラノ歌手Olivia Salvadori、ドラマーのAkihide Monnaとともに結成したグループGAISTERのセルフタイトル・デビュー・アルバム『GAISTER』を、AD 93よりリリースしている。 岩佐健一 ロンドンを拠点に活動する即興演奏家、マルチ・インストゥルメンタリスト。管楽器や木管楽器、自作・改造楽器、ライブ・サンプリングや電子音響を用い、即興を軸としたパフォーマンスを展開している。 これまで Beatrice Dillon、Neneh Cherry、Maxwell Sterling、Jessy Kanda、Coby Sey、Nik Void、Steve Noble、Ute Kanngießer、Daniel Blumberg、Julian Sartorius など、幅広いアーティストとライブやレコーディングでコラボレーションしてきた。現在は Naima Karlsson とのデュオ Exotic Sin としても活動し、Blank Forms、SAGOME から作品を発表。 Will Sweeney（ウィル・スウィーニー） イギリス出身のグラフィックアーティスト、ミュージシャン、DJ。現在は東京を拠点に、世界各地のブランドやギャラリーと幅広くコラボレーションを行っている。 これまでに数多くの書籍、コミック、ZINEを手がけるほか、トイのデザインや絵画作品の制作にも取り組み、国内外で個展を開催するなど、多岐にわたる表現活動を展開している。 音楽活動では、 Zongaminのツアーバンドの中心メンバーとして活動。現在は、Hysteric Glamourの北村信彦（Nobu Kitamura）、Boredoms／DMBQの真砂真悟（Shinji Masako）とともに、即興演奏を軸とする新たなグループ、Aoizoのメンバーとして活動している。 Jyn D.A.N.のベーシストとして活動する一方、ソロ名義でもライブやDJを行う。マシーンやベースを用いたライブセット、ベース・ミュージック、テクノ、エクスピリメンタルを横断するDJプレイを通して、ミニマルでありながら常に形を変え続ける音の風景を描き出す。 入場 3000円(+1 drink) 12:30-5am お見逃しなく！ by @willsweeney_uk
