An unreal day.

OTC 2nd Rifle Season!
Many lessons learned, mistakes made, and being in the right spot at the right time with @jermainehodge_colorado led to an unbelievable day. The packout hurt like hell on this one. This will be coming to a @huntstand original film soon where @logan_brecht_media was behind the camera and caught it all.

A strong brotherhood and friendship were forged this week. Couldn’t have done it without Jermaine and can’t wait to tell his story.

Two years ago I set out to not cut my hair until I kill an elk. That’s gonna change shortly now 😉

Get the boys together, throw up a wall tent in the middle of Oklahoma, add a few whitetail tags and see what happens. 😂🤝

@lakeforkguy , @willtcooper and @josh.j.dahlke hit the red dirt for a week of big bucks, questionable decisions, and the kind of deer camp you don’t want to leave.

The boys are HOOKED. 🦌🍻

Some hunts end with punched tags. Others just punch you in the gut. 😅

@josh.j.dahlke and @willtcooper look back at last fall and winter—the highs, the lows, the close calls, the lessons learned, and the hunts that still sting.

That’s hunting season. And somehow, we keep coming back for more.

Every story starts somewhere, and this is the story of modern whitetail management.

Deep in south Texas, a select few began the movement of what we know today as whitetail deer management. Their impact spreads far beyond their Texas roots, and the @huntstand crew went straight to the source to experience their insights firsthand.

Stream HuntStand's newest film, ORIGINS, now on @waypointtv! Check it out at the link in our bio.

Where did modern whitetail management begin?

We went looking for the answer.

ORIGINS: A HuntStand Original Film takes us deep into the brush country of South Texas, with stops alongside legendary whitetail minds like Al Brothers and Donnie Draeger, a visit to the iconic King Ranch, and more.

It’s a journey through the people, places, research, and decades of dedication that helped shape the way we understand and manage whitetails today.

ORIGINS premieres TOMORROW, 9/15.

📺 Watch on demand starting at 9 AM CST on Waypoint TV — link below.⬇️

🎬 Or watch it LIVE on the Waypoint TV channel at 9 PM CST.

This is where the story begins.

One thing I’ve learned in life - you’re never really in control.

You can prepare, plan, and do everything right, and The Big Guy still has a way of reminding you who’s in charge.

Enjoy the ride. Make the most of it. And when the season gets long, keep showing up.
