🧨 Kick off Fourth of July weekend with an immersive evening celebrating the power of Jazz, Poetry, and Black Creative Expression on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in the museum’s Roots Theater. The evening honors the voices, struggles, brilliance, and innovation as a living archive that continues to move America forward. 🎙️Hosted by comedian Renard Hirsch, the evening will feature spoken word performances by Cameron L. Casablanca, Morocco. A time was had. 1. Went for work with my “GeeGee” (@_gloria_gaynor ) for the @nostalgialoversfestival - what a time!2. Our off day was on my birthday.3. Show day: on stage a little after 11pm. Set ended a little after 1am.4. Also show day: our 2:30am lobby call was bumped to….3:15am. Life is grand! LolAlways a great time with this group of humans.
