The mountains are calling again.

At the end of 2025 I did “8 Peaks in 8 Weeks” (all over 4000 meters) here in Colorado and by the end of the year I will have climbed all 58!

This year was a lot.

I got sober. I lost 40 pounds. I made the hard call to sell the shows and the network I poured years into. And I’ve experienced God in a way I honestly don’t have words for. I’ve never felt more rooted in Him than I do right now.

It wasn’t easy. There were real challenges, real tension, and plenty of moments where I questioned if I was doing the right thing. But it was worth it. It was needed.

One of the biggest shifts for me was choosing to disconnect. Not because screens and media are “bad” (I love what I do, and there are incredible voices worth listening to), but because I realized how loud everything had become. Business. Life. Social. The endless cycle of consuming. I didn’t know how much noise I was carrying until I finally got quiet.

And in that quiet, God met me. Up on a mountain, away from the chaos, I could hear Him clearly. No performing. No scrolling. No running. Just Him.

A lot of you know selling Slick Talk, Good Morning Hospitality, and HFM wasn’t a simple decision or a quick process. It was about 14 months of conversations, due diligence, and relationship building. Looking back, I’m grateful for every step because landing with Skift as the acquirer, and now as my employer, truly feels like the best case scenario.

At the end of all of it, I can honestly say this has been a year of peace and joy. And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this is also the year I grew closer to the Lord. He deserves all the glory.

Heading into 2026, my prayer is simple: use me, Lord. Let Your will be done. Help me get out of the way so my life points back to You. by @wilslickers
