Drove an hour north to find some darker skies, but you can see the storm through the light pollution.

Taken in Courtland, California.

My first time experiencing it and it was really neat. Makes you wonder how small we are in this universe we live in.

I woke up at 2:30am because I couldn't go to sleep well excited for the photo ahead. I got to the location around 5:30am and I was ready to shoot.. only there were less than a dozen of us there so we couldn't really form a group. As the next hour passed, scores of photographers come and we started to huddle in a group.. in the middle of the street.. "Strength in Numbers right?" . Eventually it got to the point where we amassed more than 200 photographers in the middle of the street crossing walk and formed a human barricade. It got to the point where cars were turning left or right and not drive down the street unless they had to. Luckily, the street was a 4 lane street so we still had a single lane of traffic going through if they really want to.

It was pretty crowded with photographers and their tripod as you can imagine, and I met new photographer friends there which was pretty awesome!

This was one of my bucket list shots that has now become very popular in the local photography community. Scratch one off the list!!!! Moonset tonight over the Salesforce Tower.

The Ox was animated on top of the SalesForce Tower tonight.

I was hoping the Transamerica beacon was on, but alas, no luck.

It was a mild 50 degrees with no wind tonight. I compare that to the craziness that is happening in most of the United States and it's such a polar opposite between what is happening over there. Hope they all recover for soon from it.

Yesterday's adventure trying to find an alignment was unfortunately denied by Karl the Fog.

It was foggy by the coast, and anywhere near San Francisco, so I decided to drive over the Golden Gate Bridge away from the fog as much as possible.

I found some clearing of fog and pulled over to look to look on the maps to see if there was a place to shoot the comet.

Totally by random found this spot not too far away from where I pulled over. Drove over there and it was a fairly quiet cove with one other family there.

I finally found the comet because of so much light pollution, but after a few tries I found it. It also helps having a mobile app like the "Sky Guide" app.

This was a selfie that I shot last before leaving for the night.
